A tall order for David. Can he do the impossible?

It's not impossible. He will get his chances but I expect Fed to win in straights nevertheless.

will you keep jinxing fed's opponents all the way until sunday ?

I wouldn't exactly call it 'impossible'... if Ferrer gives it his all, he might surely have a chance.
Much, if not all, will depend on the quality of Fed's first serve - if it's on, Ferrer will stand no choice, if it's not, he might be able to pull another Tsonga.

exactly. as obvious as it sounds, if fed plays well then ferrer has no chances but if he doesn't give his best (as seems to be the case in the past two years) then ferrer certainly has a strong chance to beat him. it feels rather weird how everyone seem to write down Federer's opponents in MS considering that the guy has only won 1 MS in the past two seasons.

Just don't think Ferrer has the weaponry to do any real damage. He will work his ass off, but it won't be enough.

Not likely with his bum knee.

Ferrer can't hurt even Frauderror let alone Federer.

I think his serve is too weak. He has the game to break Fed once or twice, but I don't expect him to hold serve to the extent that he can win this match.

He should retire after one game. Give same favor to Fed as to Nadal.:devil:

I'm all for Equal Opportunities when it comes to giving favours to Feds & Nads. Hope Ferrer remembers that.

siuce it won't be Nadal on the other side of the net this time, I expect him to last the whole match - however his chances are equal to how much interest Fed is gonna pay into this tourney

Agreed, Pics won't fix a retirement against Rafa's nemesis.

Federer is 10-0 against Ferrer, am I correct? Ferrer has no chance, just like the last 10 he's played Roger.
