That was really really bad, the first set was awful from both and then Stepanek lifted his game a bit and Marat got terribly worse, that forehand :scared:

Great match with both fighting tooth and nail. No doubt there's some blood left out on that court now.

2004 Paris Masters Series final:

Marat Safin over Radek Stepanek 6-3 7-6 6-3

But you obviously didn't watch that cause he was too busy thinking about beating Federer at the 2005 AO :tape:

UGH! :( Marat was hitting some nice winners here and there (11 in the 1st set), but really started losing it mid-2nd set. He couldn't handle the heat, and was pissed at losing chances on Step's serve to try to win in straights. The self-destruction went on and on and on... there will be a lot of vodka flowing later. :drink:

Oh dear. If he hit 11 in the first set and 21 total, that means he hit 10 combined winners for 2 sets. :tape:

Nobody, I'll retire from this forum too :bigwave:

I find it funny you say Marat doesn't care.

Why would he choke so bad so many times? Why would he smash rackets and scream at himself? Why would he say in press conferences that he wanted to win so badly and that he was so desperate that he choked?

You say Marat whines  As you know, that is kind of ridiculous coming from a Roddick fan. :o

That would be a shame. :tears: Please find somebody to bandwagon after Safin's gone, there are many good head-cases to choose from.

You don't think Marat just gave up there in the end? He does that a lot you know.

Roddick doesn't complain nearly as much as Safin does, especially in interviews.

Roddick doesn't complain nearly as much as Safin does, especially in interviews.

Marat has had a lot to complain about and he doesn't seem very happy these days but he doesn't complain, if anything he has complained about people asking him not to retire, with the way he has been playing the last 3 years, he should retire. I don't think you've been reading his interviews anyway, you'd know that he isn't giving up. Hell, if you watched his matches, you'd know that he wasn't giving up, do you know why people choke? Did you see the Lapentti match where he fought relentlessly to no avail? The last time I seen him truly tank a match was in Madrid '07.

Roddick complains and belittles lower ranked opponents on court. I'm actually editing highlights of the 2004 ao match right now and Roddick's reaction after Marat wins the third set is ridiculous, he looks like a little kid throwing his toys out the pram.

How can you "bandwagon" Safin who hasn't done anything in 4 years. Wow, you are just clueless.

Go hope Roddick can hit a winner from the baseline and stop being owned by Del Trio.

Roddick is a clown joke and despite Safin not having done anything in 4 years, he is still greater than Clowndrew Mugduck. Hewitt too.
