Federer finds serving out against Acasuso easier than Tsonga.
Cincinnati R2: R. Federer beats J. Acasuso 6-3, 7-5DrJules 08-19-2009, 06:18 PM Federer finds serving out against Acasuso easier than Tsonga. Dini 08-19-2009, 06:19 PM Pigeonised. Good match Fedmug. :) habibko 08-19-2009, 06:20 PM job done, not spectacular, but not too bad either  neme6 08-19-2009, 06:21 PM he seemed better than in mtl! AtoChansu 08-19-2009, 06:21 PM A few pretty good points here and there. Arkulari 08-19-2009, 06:22 PM just another day at the office for Roger :p http://i32.tinypic.com/10ckb43.jpg He'll tank before QF or lose to Muzza, that's not in doubt though :o Federerhingis 08-19-2009, 06:27 PM he seemed better than in mtl! The courts at Cincy help his game as well. I guess it's a step at a time, he's not putting too many expectations on this tournie any way. FedFan_2007 08-19-2009, 06:29 PM Decent 2R match, moving on... Sunset of Age 08-19-2009, 06:30 PM Mediocre, day-at-the-office performance from Roger. Some good shots, but quite a few dirty shanks as well. In all, a comfortable victory. Congrats Rogie Clown! :hatoff: Kudos to Acasuso for hanging on in there in quite a couple of games as well. :yeah: FedFan_2007 08-19-2009, 06:32 PM Mediocre, day-at-the-office performance from Roger. Some good shots, but quite a few dirty shanks as well. In all, a comfortable victory. Congrats Rogie Clown! :hatoff: Kudos to Acasuso for hanging on in there in quite a couple of games as well. :yeah: You are way too harsh Karin. What do you want out of Roger in a 2R match anyways? The last thing he wants to do is go all-out to win 6-2, 6-2 and not have the energy on the weekend for the big guns. Surely you should know this by now. Dini 08-19-2009, 06:32 PM I liked that volley to set up 2 bp's at 5 all. Good reflexes there. Fed was good overall I thought, his BH was solid as rock and serving was also very good. FH was patchy at best and ROS sucked but then that's nothing new. Ferrer vs Fed should be a good one. Sunset of Age 08-19-2009, 06:33 PM You are way too harsh Karin. What do you want out of Roger in a 2R match anyways? The last thing he wants to do is go all-out to win 6-2, 6-2 and not have the energy on the weekend for the big guns. Surely you should know this by now. Just my opinion. alter ego 08-19-2009, 06:36 PM Poor match. Fed just got the job done. Nothing special. I hope he plays against Murray in the semi. I want to see his real form before USO. Sunset of Age 08-19-2009, 06:44 PM Poor match. Fed just got the job done. Nothing special. I hope he plays against Murray in the semi. I want to see his real form before USO. Exactly. This level of play won't get him past Murray I think. Mint Chip 08-19-2009, 06:45 PM Another lame down :) Get to the final Fed :D FedFan_2007 08-19-2009, 06:47 PM Exactly. This level of play won't get him past Murray I think. Karin, can we wait until after his QF match to decide that? I can't believe you are judging his form based on 2R match. BTW, his serving was great. Dini 08-19-2009, 06:48 PM Exactly. This level of play won't get him past Murray I think. Who said he was going to keep this level? :p Every match is different as we all know. But Muzza would be the favourite against Fed regardless of form anyway. Arkulari 08-19-2009, 06:49 PM indeed Nad, I totally agree with you, in best of three, Muzza is always the favorite against Roger ;) Dougie 08-19-2009, 06:58 PM Who said he was going to keep this level? :p Every match is different as we all know. But Muzza would be the favourite against Fed regardless of form anyway. No matter how Fed plays here and even if he loses to Murray, itīs certain he will play 10 times better at the US Open. Thatīs why heīs the favorite there, and Murray isnīt. Itīs not like he cares about these smaller tournaments. Dini 08-19-2009, 07:17 PM Cincy is not a small tourny. Sunset of Age 08-19-2009, 07:20 PM Cincy is not a small tourny. Nope, and I'm pretty sure he indeed CARES about it. Dougie 08-19-2009, 07:21 PM Cincy is not a small tourny. It is to Federer. Everyone knows he plays for the Slams only. He wonīt reveal his actual form to his toughest opponents before the US Open. Corey Feldman 08-19-2009, 07:26 PM will not beat roddick in this form Bilbo 08-19-2009, 09:17 PM great result for tennis Gaudio2004 08-19-2009, 11:08 PM will not beat roddick in this form 19-2 against Roddick, he will always beat Roddick, regardless of what form he is in. lessthanjake 08-19-2009, 11:19 PM Federer to lose to Murray in the semis here and then do better than Murray at the us open habibko 08-20-2009, 12:27 AM Federer to lose to Murray in the semis here and then do better than Murray at the us open I think he will lose even before he meets Murray, most likely Roddick, and yes he will do better than Murray in USO. nsidhan 08-20-2009, 12:51 AM Fed will get enough practice playing Ferrer and A Rod at Cincy. He won't win Cincy but he will bag his 6th straight USO in 3 weeks time. I hope to see him play/practice on Labor day!:yeah: Daniel 08-20-2009, 09:12 AM :yeah: Julio 08-20-2009, 11:50 AM "Pobre" Chucho... Bilbo 08-20-2009, 12:01 PM "Pobre" Chucho... are you a fan of this mug? Julio 08-20-2009, 12:09 PM are you a fan of this mug? It's not like i was a fan of Jose, but it's a good guy you know. Compare him to another tools like Kunitsyn, Kolya or Vassallo Arguello. I'm sure you know what i'm talking about. | |
