Saretta played a TERRIBLE MATCH! He really couldnt do anything but win ONE game (the first of the whole match). IMO, he couldnt handle the pressure after last year´s great result here.
As for Ricardo, he played better in the second set, for some highlites Ive seen. He lost, but he is still making a name for him. Hes been doing big damage in the challengers in Brazil, so its a name to keep for the near future.
Im curious to see what Julio Silva will be able to do against Bastl.

Alexandre Simoni and Agustin Calleri are now playing. I have live coverage for this one, hopefuly.

09-09-2002, 11:51 PM
Alexandre broke Calleri´s serve, but now he´s having issues with his own.
They are on deuce. Simoni leads 2-0 and serve.

09-09-2002, 11:54 PM
Simoni gets the game with some good serves in the end. 3-0
He is wearing a cap that has the brazilian flag in it. Pretty cool! ;)

09-10-2002, 12:13 AM
Calleri serves under pressure 2-5.
Wow, great stuff in this match! :D

09-10-2002, 12:23 AM
Calleri won his serve easily at love, and threw the pressure back to Alexandre.
The brazilian almost choked, but regrouped in time to start putting his 1st serves in once again and won the first set 6-3 saving 2 break points and finishing with a slice backhand winner. :p

09-10-2002, 12:32 AM
Come on Agustin!:fiery:

09-10-2002, 12:38 AM
Calleri just broke Simoni´s serve in the second set. The brazilian seems kind of lost out there.
Calleri serves 2-0

09-10-2002, 12:41 AM

A set a piece now.

09-10-2002, 01:27 AM
Tommy Robredo is out.

09-10-2002, 01:42 AM
Calleri broke Simoni´s serve again. And on a double fault AGAIN.
The argentinian will serve on 3-2 in the third set.

Robredo lost 1-6 3-6. I forgot to put the scoreline.

09-10-2002, 02:00 AM
Both players holding serve with trouble, Simoni will now serve at 3-5.

09-10-2002, 02:07 AM
Simoni served at 30-0, the line judge gave the ball in, the chair umpire called a second serve, Simoni lost the focus and all the remaining points.
Agustin Calleri wins the match 3-6 6-3 6-3.

Simoni was very sad when the reporter interviewed him in the court. He said Calleri played well, but he didnt play bad either. He said he was extremely unlucky (what is true) since he played a good match throughout the whole time (which is not as true) and the balls would just work for the other side and the balls that slipped in the tape would always go in for Agustin (true again).

Terrible day for the brazilians here.
I hope they make it better tomorrow. Meligeni will be the first one on court.

09-10-2002, 02:09 AM
Thanks for the reports hitman! :) I hope it goes better for the Brazilians tomorrow; Guga didn't do well last year, I recall. Go Guga! :bounce:
