Strong field :yeah: I know it's the only ATP tournament of the week, also doubles especialists play a lot of tournaments, but still I'm quite surprised with this line-up.

Also, the doubles players get a better schedule than at a lot of other tournaments who put them on at 11:00 a.m. The doubles players don't play any day matches until Saturday so they have time to practice & still tour around the city during the day.

Confirmed:

In the upcoming months, Ram and Erlich will split up once more, allowing Ram to make the most of his successful partnership with Max Mirnyi, and giving Erlich some extra time to regain health. The two intend to play together in the Davis Cup quarterfinal tie against Russia in July.

Ram, who will play with Mirnyi at Roland Garros later this month, was delighted to be playing with Erlich once more.
"There's nothing like playing with Yoni," Ram said. The singles event was won by Taiwan's Yen-Hsun Lu, who claimed the title after German Benjamin Becker retired with Lu leading 6-3, 3-1.

Erlich made his comeback mid-season after an elbow surgery. Ram prefers to play a full season with Mirnyi, so he will try to make the year-end championships with him, while Erlich will be switching partners I guess. Andyoni should play together again for the full season next year.

On site cut was 27, that's sick.

Why can't they make a 24 team draw when the singles is 48?

So it's really a good environment for doubles :yeah:

So it's really a good environment for doubles :yeah:And the courts are usually packed for the doubles matches w. lots of fans from different countries cheering for their favorites.
On site cut was 27, that's sick. The 27 was Gonzalez/Robredo, the only singles players (other than Berdych) to get in without a wild card. The fact that there were four major champions (Bhupathi/Knowles v. Mirnyi/Ram) facing off in a first round match & that Melo/Sa couldn't get in until there was a withdrawal are both signs of how tough a draw it is this year.
