Most epic match points?

I'm sure we've all watched real high-quality / exciting matches ,but ending with an ace / error/ double fault. Of course some matches end with clean winners born from spectacular shot making against some who doesn't
self -destruct, but I find those, especially on GS finals very rare especially compared to the other "cheap" ways of winning a match.

Give matches which end with beautiful match-points. If you could give 5-setters / GS finals , then better.

not epic match at all,but still - fed passing safin with BH staying deeply behind the baseline on matchpoint at AO'2009.
Safin fought on the 3rd set TB from 1-4 to 5-4, but then 2 perfect serves from fed and that crazy pass.

Ah, forgot to mention Gasquet vs. Fed Monte Carlo 05

That was a great BH in the tie-break to beat Fed. :worship:

Do you remember the FH pass Gasquet hit to save MP vs Hewitt at the USO? Crazy shot from several meters behind baseline.

Nadal hit some ridiculous shots to save MP's before eventually succumbing to Youzhny in Dubai.

My favourite has got to be Gato winning RG with a cleanly struck BH winner.

If we are counting saved MP's as well the Federer FH vs Agassi TMC '03 was special.

Gaudio's was just classic...and it was off some pretty deep Coria shots in the last point. That's one of the only GS finishes that I've seen that's ended with a winner...wasn't the Wimbledon 2007 Final MP pretty good too?

Yup the Gaudio MP was fantastic. :worship:

The MP in the Wimbledon 07 final was fitting I thought...he took control of the set once he saved his own ass and ended it with a smash. But it wasn't the smash really that stood out - it was Federer's FH before the smash that was the most impressive in my opinion.

How the hell can an ace be a letdown equal to a cheap error/double fault?
