Only thing of note was in first set, Kim got to 30-0 and then doublefaulted four times in a row. Classic.

Kim was at 29% first serve in opening set, upped it 2nd to near 80 and looked pretty secure. Then at 4-4 gave up one bp, doublefaulted, and Gooch served out.

Sounds fair - I don't think anyone could argue with that.

Kim has now lost 9 in a row, if you exclude the Newport wins over Brands (fix) and Grosjean (barely able to walk nowadays, still won first set and then had to retire).

I think he was using the racquet as a cane, and was actually using his hand to hit the ball:D
Had to retire with an inflamed hand callus:haha:

The double faults must have been due to Kim's fear of The Gooch's punishing returns.

Mardy`d better stop the Gooch. American police is useless these days.

No mate Mardy is next on Gooch's list. Watch out. He's coming. He will give you and Mardy nightmares for the rest of your lives...

I saw Kim play Grosjean at Newport. Kim does have a problem with double-faulting. He is a decent top 100 player, but most of his success is at the challenger level. But, he's where he's at (top 100) by earning it. Noone just said poof, you're top 100. Grosjean's shoulder was bothering him at Newport, no question, but Kim hit some great shots that day. The point is I respect any player that has the mental toughness to be able to still play on tour at age 31, even though he hasn't had that much success. As for Guccione, he has a big serve, but limited movement and average returning. He honestly hasn't had much success at the tour level.

Kim does have a problem with double-faulting.

Problem is when you do it occasionally - 4 in a row is something else :-) Gooch literally didn't need to get a racket on the ball, and he got a break.
