Hamburg R3: Mathieu def. Brands 7-5, 7-5

Phew, that was a close match.

I read "Brands def. Mathieu" and I went :o Omg. He's a mug.

But luckily I just can't read. Allez Paulo. ;)

it's good to see PHM winning close matches by breaking at the end, instead of visa-versa. He won this match mainly by taking his few opportunities on Brand's second serve. Brands had a very high first serve %. From what I've seen of him he has a mediocre second serve, but a very good first serve.

I like Brands and his game. He seems to have a nice and positive attitude on court. We might see more of him in the future.

That was an entertaining match. Hope to see more of Brands as well in the future.
