good to see Sam cruising, I expected a tougher match vs Dancevic

final vs. Isner would be great, sth. like 7-6 6-7 7-6 for Sam and 25 aces from both guys:p

Sam's playing quite well, but this is his third week in a row, he's scheduled for DC, then the 2 masters series... one has to wonder if that's real smart scheduling but i hope it works out for him

I can't believe he said last night he's scheduled for New Haven too. That's Newport, Indy, LA, DC, Canada, Cincy, New Haven, and the USO, potentiall 9 weeks of hardcourt tennis in a row... he's already made three finals, i really hope he rethinks something along the way.

He is just young and is really excited and he knows he can do really well in all events. Once he gets older, he will realize to tone it down some.

I forgot about a week of World Team Tennis between Newport and Indy. Really, it's not smart. And it could really hurt him in the more important tournaments. He's young but he's old enough and has mentors who are experienced enough to advise him not to do scheduling like that. I just hope he's up for it.

anyway, good win sam, even if Ball getting tired really really helped him out

Yes true, I am surprised a coach or someone didn't intervene their. But hey, it really isn't too bad. It's very unlikely that he can get to the semis or better of Washington/Montreal/Cincy, so take advantage of these events while the big guys aren't out and it gets his confidence going for Washington/Montreal/Cincy. Hopefully it does help him in the big ones coming up. But we will see how it affects him.

So nobody in front of Sam is playing in New Haven. All Sam has to do is make the semis or better to win. If he makes the quarters, he will tie Murray at #1.

Sam loses the final 64 76(6) to 2 seed Verdasco.

Sam was down 46 24 to Verdasco but saved many break points and then had 5 more set points later that set. Sam had 2 set points at 6-5 in the 2nd, then he was up 6-3 in the breaker but couldn't win another point.

:bigcry:

He will shake it off in time for the Open though. Nice tourney:yeah:
