I would have to say TMC 2005 Roger Federer vs Gastˇn Gaudio. Federer beat him 6-0 6-0, absolutely flawless performance from Federer. PERFORMANCE-WISE his best victory.

His worst loss probably has to be the 6-3 6-1 6-0 loss in RG 2008 Against Nadal.

Shitty effort in front of a home crowd, against one of the worst, most useless players he's played in his entire career.

Beckers Wimby loss to Stich is on my short list for worst losses.

For some reason, one of his best wins that come to my mind was his '89 Davis Cup match against Edberg (who is another of my fav players). Amazing display and made Edberg look mediocre.

His worst loss maybe against Sanguinetti 6-1 6-2 in Toronto 2006 or against Djokovic 6-1 6-0 in London 2008 but the most painful loss for me was when he lost to Roddick in US Open 2003 semifinal after wasting matchpoint and blowing 2-0 lead.

I think the worse loss for Roger was the one to Stepanek, in losing two tiebreaks without getting broken, after JCF had defeated Nadal in 2008 Rome. Best win, I'd have to go with Agassi in USO '04.

That one came to mind as well, but I think he just showed terribly poor spirit against El Aarej. There's really no excuse for it and Filippo would never lose to him under ordinary circumstances. That coupled with the fact that he was playing at home in Italy, representing his country, was substandard overall. I don't understand how he could allow himself to lose that way - live or dead rubber.

Good to see another Moya fan! It was so long ago that he won Roland Garros I can see why you made the mistake.

In more recent times, Moya's best wins were
d. Nadal 2nd Round Miami 2006
d. Djokovic 2nd Round Cincinnati 2007

Worst defeats were
l. Garcia-Lopez 1st Round Australian Open 2005 (Moya was ranked 5 at the time and Garcia-Lopez 106)
l. Oliver Rochus 3rd Round US Open 2004 (Moya was ranked 4 at the time and Rochus 100).

Federer's loss to Hewitt in Davis Cup Sept 2003

In one of the greatest comebacks in Australia's long Davis Cup history, Hewitt beat the world's player-of-the-moment, Roger Federer, 5-7 2-6 7-6 (7-4) 7-5 6-1.

Still painful to this day. :bigcry:

Best Win:

2005 US Open Final against Hewitt:

Federer became the first man since 1988 to win three majors in a year, thoroughly outclassing Lleyton Hewitt 6-0, 7-6 (3), 6-0 Sunday to add the U.S. Open title to those he took at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.

Has Hewitt beaten him since? Don't think so. :woohoo:

but to me FED should have won this years AO, but he lost all the big points to Rafa, showing Roger`s fragility on big points to his arch rival..

likewise the fact that RAFA could play such a wonderful AO final and win all the big points against Fed, despite the gruelling SF vs Verdasco- and obvious fatigue, made me think it was his best wein..

Surely Fed's worst loss is the 6-1 6-3 6-0, or does he blame that on mono? In which case I guess Nadal can blame his knees for the Soderling loss (which wasn't as bad as Tsonga AO-08 anyway).

Andre's best win: 1999 French final down 2 sets. If he lost that one after Andre's rededication to the game. he would've been stuck at 3 slams all career and be just another good player instead of being in GOAT discussions

Worst loss: 2005 US Open Final to Fed. Yes he lost thrillers to Pete in 4 sets in NY too. This hurt worse because

1. He could've retired on top like Pete if he won
2. Unlike the 4 setters he lost to Pete in NY, he wasn't down 2 sets. It was 1-1 4-2, 30-0. He holds, he wins the set and likely his 9th and final slam.

Blake's best win: 2005 US Open Nadal

Worst loss: Because i'm an Agassi fan i'll forgive Blake for losing that thriller to him after leading 2 sets.

What i won't forgive is the match that introduced me to James Blake. Lleyton Hewitt was allowed to get away with a racist remark directed at him and a 2-1 set deficit in his defeat.

You're right about this one. After losing the second set to Medvedev, he didn't look good at all. But great triumph in the end. Prior to that he really let himself go, got fat, out of shape, ranking dropped and he played Challengers to get his ranking back... But by far the best thing Andre ever did was shave his head.
