Interesting match, with "scrutiny" on it for obvious reasons.

Hernandez looks much the better player first set, runs away with it. 2nd set Sid gradually works his way into it, and nicks it at the end. 3rd is where it gets interesting....

Very competitive, Sid looking marginally stronger.

Oscar gets MTO for a thigh injury, the same one that caused him to retire in last week's SanBenny challenger. Possibly just a restrapping though.

Oscar serving at *2-3. At bp, he leaves one on the baseline that lands way in. Everybody thinking he's "at it" again, and that's the match.

But no, instantly breaks back with some monster amazing play. Dropshots, backspin crosscourt lob, magic courtcraft, passing shot winner. Gorgeous, gorgeous play out of nowhere, and breaks back to love.

Serving again at *3-4, Oscar gets code violation for trying to use a laptop midmatch. Or possibly it was just a time violation, who knows.

He promptly doublefaults, going to deuce. Tired looking now, Sidorenko misses bp. Next deuce, Oscar nets stupidly. Sidorenko then takes the next bp after some classy play, great lob then finishes it at the net.

Sid now serves for the match at *5-3. Another rebreak?

First point, rallyrallyrally, monster winner into the deuce corner from the King, with a broken string! 0-15.

Wonky mishit by Oscar flies out of stadium, 15-15.

2nd serve, Hernandez jumps on it but piles it long, 30-15.

Good serve out wide draws high/slow return, Sid closes to net and puts it away, 40-15. Double mp.

2nd serve, charges net. Wins.

Not that I saw. Some pretty wild swings around the MTO, but that's normal.

Result at the end was a little surprising, as it looked a little like Oscar's extra class was telling, and Sidorenko didn't quite have the quality to close it out. As it happened he did, raised his level the last two games, pretty clutch. Good choice of when to attack the net in particular.

lol, cameraman went to the "no laptops/handys sign" :-)

Then there was nothing wrong this match.

Oscar and Damian Steiner have had a few interesting exchanges, the strapping on the thigh, surprised he could move. He was breaking strings like Malisse.

Sidorenko had his moment in the sun, played a bit better than the last time they played.

That happens almost every Oscar match, win or lose :-) I saw one where a guy was flinging around 10k (and consistently getting it wrong).
