Ditto.

Might actually go now, if it isn't as hot as the last few years.

Some weird MD WC choices with guys like Levine still in qualies. :confused:Levine tweeted the other day he was quite looking forward to a week off. He may not have taken a WC even if he'd been offered it.

is that normally how WCs are chosen??for these smaller tourneys, it happens quite frequently. Even Miami often gives WCs to IMG clients.

It depends on the level of the tournament. The 250 tournaments will hold wild cards for top players who might want to play & draw some additional interest to the tournament. At the 500 level tournaments, the top players decided last fall which 500 tournaments they wanted to enter in 2009 so unless there's someone who has been out w. injury or wants more matches, there isn't much use in holding the wild cards for top players. In Washington, one wild card was held in case Murray or some other top player wanted to play. (It went to Young instead.) The other three went to BEST clients (w. Russell getting one of them after Isner got in off the alternate list). For the qualifying, three went to American juniors who train at the USTA center in College Park & the fourth went to BEST client Oudsema who has played WTT in DC for two years.

As far as I know, Magdalena Grzybowska, former WTA's TOP30 is Janowicz's manager. She works in BEST Agency.

Thanks everyone for the information. Somehow it seems odd to base a couple of the decisions on clients, but that's my ignorance.
