Gaston plays fellow countryman and very good youngster Juan Monaco in the 1st round. It will be tough for him, but he is capable, just hope he has rested well enough and ready to go.

Welcome back to the court El Gato, I just hope that he can win one or two matches and that would be enough for me.

Tropical storm Gaston is going to wipe away the hardcourts.

He is playing a night match on grandstand court for some reason.

Well done Gaston, he got through in 4 sets against Monaco, but now he has to play the hardcourt specialist Thomas Johansson, this will be a tough match for him, and if he manages to win this match, it will be an outstanding effort.

It seems that Monaco had the Coria-cramping problem in the match, but at least he got a victory in the 1st round, but maybe Gaston and Johansson will be tough for Gaston, but we shall see soon enough in the next round.

Good El Gato, time to get ready and be well rested for your next match against Johansson. I just hope Gaston can dominate with the backhand and vary it up as Johansson doesn't like the variation of the pace, just hope he can take him out.

Too bad they didn't even show Gaston's match point... so much for that tape... I'm erasing it now...

Vamos, Gaston, v. T Johansson!!

Where is George, btw?? IF you see him, tell him to pls check his email...

Gaston is 1st match on Armstrong, I am surprised they didn't put him on court 18 like I expected, but this will be tough for him, but he can do it. I just hope he can believe that he can win on this surface.

Just a quick hello, and thanks for the great surprise in my email.

Yes, he is first match on which is a good thing, I just hope the shitty TV station shows his match, then again we might be lucky.

Vamos El Gato, take out Johansson.

Gaston lost in 4 sets 6-3, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 to Johansson. I'd be lying to say I was surprised at this result, but Gaston had chances in the 3rd set to come back and make it 5-5, and he had opportunities in the 4th, but was not good enough to take them and Johansson was too good on the day.

Time to book a flight out of New York, and then enjoy yourself somewhere else before the next tournament.

Well on a ridiculously fast hardcourt in a place he has never done well at, yes it wasn't a surprise at all, but at least he fought hard and that's all anyone can ask of him to do.

Gaston
he wasn't playing so bad at all (for what I've seen)

Gaston makes me laugh w his emotional outbursts and trying to rip his shorts... smashing his racquet... he's so cute! Too bad he lost to the choking Johansson cos I wanted to see more of him...

You're going to have to go to Buenos Aires or Europe for that to be happening, he doesn't like playing in the US very much.

Good places RogiFan. Gaston has no points to defend at this time of year, so everything is in his favour to improve his results on these surfaces.
