Borg F/O run (78-81) vs Nadal F/O run (05-08), whos was more impressive?

Whos run of 4 straight French Open titles was more impressive?

Borg won more consecutive sets than Nadal did.
Both won a title without dropping a single set.
Nadal dropped the same pigeon in 3/4 finals.
Both managed to win Wimbledon afterwards at least once.

Whos run was more dominant?

Borg faced stiffer clay court competition.

Nadal won more Masters on clay then Borg. ALOT more.

Borg won Monte Carlo(x2) and Rome.
Rafa has won Monte Carlo(x5), Barcelona(x5), Rome(x4), Hamburg.

Barcelona is a masters title now? Crafty.

Two of Bjorn's RGs - 1978, 1980 - were won without a loss of a set.

Frankly, it's petty to argue for one over the other, but Bjorn was definitely not less dominant.

Borg dropped 4 sets, won 15 bagels.
Nadal dropped 7 sets, won 5 bagels.

Borg was more impressive. But Nadal is a much better player. Put both in their primes and Borg would have absolutely no chance.

Nadal is playing in the weakest era according to some MTF posters. Borg by far.

Judging from the results, the Nadal bandwagon is at an all-time low.

Bjorn. Winning the FO without losing a set is amazing.

The fact that Nadal started the streak the first time he even played Roland Garros makes it a bit more impressive to me...

The fact that Nadal had been on tour for 2 years before that and having good results and didn't play RG because of injuries doesn't make it more impressive.

It's not like he came out of nowhere and just started this streak.

To me what's most impressive about Borg's run is that he also went on to win Wimbledon--how many times? Then after that, he somehow managed to make it to the USO finals a couple of times, right?

He won FO AND Wimb 3 years straight, 78, 79, & 80.

He won the FO AND Wimb, AND made the USO final in 78 & 80. Impressive stuff indeed.
