It looks like the injury is quite serious. This will damage his career even more. It was his ankle, then his hand and now his knees :(

federer is atp record holder with many exits via crying though. this is one record i don't see any grown men breaking. (unless you are del potro, you might break fed's record someday)

Why So Serious?
06-17-2009, 04:58 PM
Poor Baggy:sad: It seems he was on the wrong foot, when his knee just locked when he changed direction.
He screamed loud and was in a lot of pain. Let's hope nothing to severe. Just on his 24th B-day the unlucky fella:rolleyes:

Looks like it's not as bad as people feared it would be. Well it's a shame he'll miss out on Wimbledon - his best Grand Slam but it could have turned out a lot worse.

Two weeks only?

That message from the docs must have felt like a great birthday present!

chowdahead25
06-17-2009, 09:20 PM
Wow. I dont mean for this to sound terrible right now, but I am beyond thrilled. 2 weeks is a god sent. Sure he will miss Wimbledon, but his long term health is more important. That video shows a disturbing fall.

Im praying it really is only 2 weeks. That would be just fine.

He in fact WAS, some nine, ten months ago. (correct me on this)
But he changed his mind, for whatever reason. Said he loved the game too much to throw the towel as of yet.

What's so funny? :)
A tendon connects muscle to bone. These tough, yet flexible, bands of fibrous tissue attach to the skeletal muscles that move your bones. Tendons essentially enable one to move since they act as intermediaries between the muscles creating the motion of the bones.

Ligaments are similar to tendons, but they connect bone to bone and help to stabilize joints. They are composed mostly of long, stringy collagen fibers creating short bands of tough fibrous connective tissue.
