Verdasco seems to be very out of form right now. Was crap in Halle, too.

Well done Benjamin. :hatoff:

Aside from failing with 3sps, Verdasco also doublefaulted in the tiebreak..... immediately after getting a minibreak back.

He really is regressing pretty fast.

Becker is 27-4 in Challengers in 2009 and now he's winning again on the main tour. Nice comeback year, so far.

Most of the claycourters are. Nadal is the only good one. Sad isn't it? Even Guga hated the grass.

He's reached the fourth round a couple of times and the last few years he has lost to very respectable grass court players. He's not awful.

Verdasco is in his normal form right now, the form that is most true to him...average player.

losing 8 games against Andujar on grasscourt is more humiliating than losing a match against Becker
good to see the DF-s on big points again...Lalo can be proud

Yes, they did. They played in something like a gym hall. And I can't remember if it was a hard or carpet, but it was awful fast, balls skidding off the surface, they did not played rally longer than 3-4 shots. Nando had a MP.

Verdasco is not out of form. He's simply shit on grass

FlameOn
06-17-2009, 12:50 PM
Nando said during the French Open that he's going back to Las Vegas again in July, like he did in the off-season. Something doesn't seem to be totally right at the moment, so whatever it is I hope that another Las Vegas visit will give him his mojo back. These DFs in tiebreaks are definitely not down to him just being bad on grass. :(

Fuck you Simon Reed. :o Why did you have to open your big yap about Verdasco being the future? All this "bandwagon" bullshit and negative backlash is his fault.

bjurra
06-17-2009, 02:58 PM
Yes he is. Wimbledon career 16–7. :o

that is supposed to be bad?

compare that stat to other GS tournaments pre 2009.

Lost to Ivo in Notthingham last year.

Haha, losing to Ivo on grass is supposed to prove that Verdasco is poor on grass? You are a joke!

And to make things even funnier, the match wasnt even played on grass...:wavey:

philosophicalarf
06-17-2009, 03:08 PM
The Notts indoor surface is insanely fast - minor miracle for anybody to get an Ivo serve back in court.

Verdasco definitely isn't useless on grass though. Last Wimbledon he beat Kohly and Berdych in straights, then went 2-0 up against Ancic, playing some terrific stuff. Of course, he then lost the next two sets and the final one 111-13 :-)

To all you mugs who claim Nando is terrible on grass:

Nandos GS stats before this year:

hard court: 16-11

clay: 8-5

grass: 10-6

His career stats, all tournaments:

Hard 103 - 67

Clay 138 - 80

Indoor hard 24 - 22

Carpet 14 - 16

Grass 28 - 14
