I'm not sure all this hyping will help his cause- the British media are at it again. I do feel sorry for the guy having to cope with all that.

Is he ready to rule? Thoughts please.

The media falling over themselves to go quite berserk.

They disgust me.

I think if he is going to rule tennis it will either be next year onwards, but he has a good shot at starting now.

The saddest thing about media hype is that they'll keep on doing so because apparently, people still read that kind of :bs:...

Henman had to tolerate it to extreme levels, now the torch has truly passed.

It sucks though. Just goes on to show the state of British tennis- they have only one guy to hang onto as the 2nd best is nowhere near the top 100. I do feel that had Henman not had the expectations of a whole country on his shoulders he would have won Wimbledon at least once.

Well, Henman would have probably won Wimbledon in 01 if it hadn't rained, he would have certainly beaten Ivanisevic.

From the BBC:

"Federer and Nadal have made up the final for the past three years running," said Murray at the launch of his own newly-designed, monogrammed Fred Perry outfit, which he will wear at the tournament this year.

Andy Murray's second serve = Ana Ivanovic's second serve. He can't win shit with that.

Also Murray does nothing amazing, he just waits for the opponent to hit an unforced error and pumps his fist.

IMO Murray has a lot to prove in this slam. At both AO and RG the first real opponent he faced he struggled and got ousted

Well, actually that's Fred Perry. He does have obligations, you know. I'm sure he didn't wake up one day and go "I'm going to launch my own line of middle England knitted sweaters." Fucksake.

He might as well go the full hog now, have a nose implant and wear a shit-eating grin to complete his transformation into Roger Federer.

I like the clothes. Very old school.

Hopefully when he starts winning slams, Fred Perry will add things to Andy's personal logo to denote his successes, like the other cool kids Rog and Rafa. Maybe they'll bring out a book for him too like Nole. See, he has to compete on more than just the court.
