Can Haas win Wimbledon?

This would be his best chance, right? He won Halle beating Djokovic. He was up two sets to love against Federer. If he were more mentally focused, he could have won that match. Going into Wimbledon, he's playing well. Nadal's still injured. This could be his best opportunity, although that chance is very small.

I can't really see him getting further than a QF at best. Much will be down to what kind of draw Tommy gets.

Talk about rushing to premature conclusions. Haas has had a good week but winning a major is something else. His record at Wimbledon is not that good to start with. He might draw Murray, Federer or Nadal in the early rounds and we all know what the outcome would be.

Unfortunately this is mostyl right. Against Marat in AO 2002 he nearly won the match until the rain came. His other two GS semifinals were clearly lost.
But one cannot speak of Tommy winning Wimbledon. What must be noticed is: The players who'll meet Haas in the early rounds will say: "Oh NO!" So Tommy can do some damage even against the top guys. I'd like to see him in the quarters against Roger :) Long way to go!

No, but your conclusion about the weakness of the era regarding grass tennis doesn't make sense in that context.

What has the fact that MTF thinks Haas has a chance, reveal about his real chance and thus the actual strenght of the field? I would say, nothing at all.

Federer had his usual hard flat forehands on the line, and cheap serves on sidelines.
Haas wouldn't relax on serve in long matches. He was nervous as Acasuso and Berdych because the media was waiting for the Fed GOAT hype.

Federer prayed for an easily tired opponent as usual. He reached moonballs with his long freak arm. Haas' footwork became sluggish and Federer luckily got free points in 4th sets.

After winning 2 sets in Slams, and earning break points, Haas missed easy backhands and hardly volleyed to get Federer out of position. In 2002, he was strong emotionally and won an 8-6 5th set.

He hung in with Djokovic and Kohlschreiber; there was no pressure in a short match with less media hype.

Let's put the past behind.Yes,Haas was close plenty of time but whatever you would like to call it he choked. And why he couldn't win a slam recently,it's because he wasn't consistent..This is the first time for about an year and half that he found some rhythm and he keeps doing that from Madrid Masters, when he lost to Roddick the match that should have been his..So don't know if Wimbledon is possible,I guess the question would have been better Can Haas win a GS?

After winning 2 sets in Slams, and earning break points, Haas missed easy backhands and hardly volleyed to get Federer out of position. In 2002, he was strong emotionally and won an 8-6 5th set.

He hung in with Djokovic and Kohlschreiber; there was no pressure in a short match with less media hype.

heya stop it your almost complimenting roger;) for a non roger fan you somehow always find a way of talking about him!

Tommy won against Cilic. He's playing today against Andreev, which hopefully he will win. Djokovic should be a good test.

Fed-Karlovic is clearly the worst of the QFs.

Yay for Tommy winning against Djokovic. He continues to play well and is basically the surprise of Wimbledon so far.
