Twisted his ankle in the second game.
Not good for the American #1.

Tough break for Roddick. Hopefully it's just precaution.

That was such a classy speech by Blake. :worship:

Funny that he reminded the crowd that he is half-British.

Hopefully it's just precaution.hopefully, but, usually when he does this (at least once a year :o) it takes him some time to recover properly.. hopefully it won't be like RG a couple years ago :help:

Roddick twisted his left ankle when running after a lob. He slipped and was obviously hurt. Took a medical time out, but couldn't carry on. Of course he lands on that left foot after every serve. It was pretty painful to watch.
A real shame, when going for his fifth Queens title. Hope Andy will be fine for Wimby.

Blakey in the final. Good run for him here. Sad for Andy. :(

Roddick was playing better once he hurt the ankle. He came out pretty flat....James had several break points in Andy's first 2 service games. But he was still ripping a few forehands and serving decently. Then after he got the ankle wrapped....he could hardly move.

Get better soon, Andy. Well, easy title now for a different Andy.

Uh-ho! Take care of yourself Andy!

Well.. Congrats to James for moving-on. 4-4 in the first set before Andy's injury is pretty good sign for James.

Well, that ankle twist did not look too seriously (hopefully), I think that it was precautionary retirement. Could have been a nice match, now it is 2-0 for Blake on grass.

It really didn't look so serious? You think he could go on with the match?

Pity - could have been a good match - and certainly sad for Roddick. Classy speech by Blake afterwards.

He could have won in tiebreaks if he was hitting his 1st serve at a very high percentage. But yeah there's no way he was gonna play on and risk making the injury even worse....Wimbledon is more important.

He was walking on it tentatively; if he continued he would have been concentrated on not hurting it more, he probably would've hurt it even more. Wimbledon is much more important.

All British? So Blake's mother being English means this is an all British final?

Bad luck for Roddick. He was serving at a really high % all week and barely allowed even a break point opportunity. Hope he's ready for Wimbledon.

Roddick is a flat-out wimp. Either that or a fixer.

What was up with Roddick? He was moving like a crippled mule with mad cow.he actually injured the ankle by trying for a 'tweener' shot and stepped on the concrete at the back of the court while watching where his ball was going

unreal to injure yourself because you played a circus shot :o

He probably could have go on, but did not want to risk anything 1 week before Wimby. It was a smart desicion, with overuse it could have get swallen and then he would have to lose 3-4 days resting (not moving at all).

Karma already owning Worthlessdick for cheating against Hewitt.
