Clutch from JCF, he killed Darcis with passing shots, at first with BH CC, then all started to work, BH DTL, FH inside-in, great serving when mattered.

Ferrero the king of grass . He is one of the best players on grass this year.

First of all JC was serving really well and his serve came to the rescue when he needed.
In the first set, Darcis was playing extremely well, like one of those weeks when he won a title out of the blue. But Juanqui gradually stepped up his game and grabbed the only opportunity that arose in the second set. The third set was close until 3-3, JC had more deues on Darcis' serve, but the Belgian was resisting hard. Then JC started playing really aggressively and hitting winners from everywhere, both FH and BH. There was a lovely drop shot and even a trick shot from behind the legs. :)

Good luck to JC tomorrow!! :yeah:

Nice to see that the mosquito still has some bite left. The WC at Wimbledon looks like a great move now.

Great come-back. So pleasing because it looked like Darcis was having a really good day. Everything he did 1st set turned to gold. I think he surprised everyone with his game, he has a very solid slice BH and his serve was finding the marks. Very effective on grass.

But JCF fought through it and saving those BPs at the start of the 2nd were the key. After that he served bigger and tried to make the first move in all the rallies. Crucially he got a much better read on the Darcis serve and it put far more pressure on the Belgian.

In the end JCF was too consistent, too powerful and too accurate. Once again it was a real pleasure to watch. Only the 2nd time he's won four successive matches on grass.
