Roddick beats Hewitt at Queens 7-6 7-6

Corey Feldman

cheating Roddick

he, so clearly, left a Hewitt volley that ended up catching the line - so point was Hewitt's

and when Hawkeye showed it he fabricated that he "was there" and somehow deserved a replayed point.. which ump fell for

unbelievable behaviour

Still, Roddick must have known he let that ball go and should have lost the point, yet he tried to get it replayed anyway. It's not the first time I've seen him do this, but I think it's the first time he's gotten away with it.

No (even if bet365's commentator didn't know), but the decision to replay the point or award it to the player is still the umpire's to take.

Yup, it was cheating and it wasn't his first attempt (quite similar situations like this before), but this time Armstrong bend over for him. The ball was too deep and bounced awkwardly, Roddick was too close and he knew that he couldn't make a successful half volley out of it and he let it go. Line judge couldn't have made the call before Roddick could have hit it, call came when the ball passed Andy. Clear winner for Hewitt.

Roddick is the king of tennis.

It was the umps call, Roddick had a play. Boohoo bitches. It's not blatantly cheating. Suprising how many people forget about the Gonzo v. James B incident and everyone llloooves Gonzo...that was a blatant cheat. How about Safin throwing his racquet at the ball to make a volley at AO? Or Kiefter throwing his racquet at Grosjean...this incident is hardly worth the press it's getting. This was the umpires fault and the point wasn't a deciding one anyways...so who cares, Hewitt lost...Andy won.

He wasn't a ass in those videos like he was in that match against Kohlschreiber. He was just talkative trying real hard to be witty and to act some personality.Fed, Berdych, Hewitt, Kohlschreiber, Tsonga, Monfils = Amazing Brains, Personality. Beyond Reproach (according to John and Pat McEnroe)

To be fair, you deserve it.  Just kidding. :bolt: :rolls: Seriously, that was a joke.

I guess you haven't listened to Castle's commentary during Murray matches often enough. :o

I didn't see the match, but to read about this is disappointing.

It's actually embarrassing for me,trying to support the guy.

Bummer.

Obviously it was ultimately Armstrong's fault for caving in. But this kind of behavior from Roddick is what makes a lot of people dislike him.He should cheat and smile like Federer, Roddick's own Swiss Sampras and Martin Luther King.

I wonder if Andy believes if you are near the ball, that means you have a play on it :confused:The troll thread had nothing to do with winning and being able to hit the shot. It's for the angry teens and Fed fanboys who don't like hearing praise about Roddick's superior looks, brains and personality. The more caring Fed fans are just bored and need to post something to entertain other Fed fans. Nadal's fans are just pissed at the media and dumb forums.

heya, what was the tsonga paris robbery?Let's see Tsonga win outside the Paris event, where the idiots booed and jeered nonstop.
Roddick hit the shot on the baseline. Linesman and umpire called it out; the chance to consolidate the service break was stolen. Roddick hung his head and refused to challenge the call. He was sure hungry to win. He still doesn't know he was robbed, as he was in the 2001 US Open.

What Fed troll makes sense of this, now?

This was a heartbreaking match to watch, Hewitt up a mini break in both tie-breakers..

Still, he served well and played a great match (outside of the tiebreaks), if he can keep it together in pressure moments he can come good at Wimbledon :)

Come on Rusty!!

Slightly off topic, but couldn't they change the challenge system to avoid this sort of thing. Let the player play his shot if he can, and challenge at the end of the point. I'm sure he could block the line call out of his mind, and still play his normal shot.

That arguable volley point in the first tb should've been Hewitt's. That cost him the match. Roddick stop playing so... :(

Hewitt played the both tbs bad. In other parts it was a good match between the two former champs. ;)

Three sets would've been nice.

Still, Roddick must have known he let that ball go and should have lost the point, yet he tried to get it replayed anyway. It's not the first time I've seen him do this, but I think it's the first time he's gotten away with it.

exactly. he didnt directly cheat, but he lied big time! he let the ball go, it was so obvious! it's a pretty sad move!

of course roddick is going to argue he could have played it, what normal person wouldn't.

the umpire made a pigs ear of it, end of story
nope, theres tons of honest guys out there, who would not complain just because they could!!!
