JCF doing well to justify his WC and he has another winnable match tomorrow.

He didn't need WC for Queens. ;)
But it's good he's showing a good form on grass before Wimbledon where he got WC. :)

that's what I meant, his Wimby WC.

Strangely, his grass game shot up as his clay game declined.

Ah, mosquito. Congratulations!

Saw this piece recently where JCF was referred to as "The Flea" in place of Mosquito. The headline for this article was also entertaining.

Headline: Federer finally takes French title (but Auckland eludes him)

Ferrero: " Ferrero, aka The Flea, beat the 18-year-old Artful Roger 6-4, 6-4 that day."

Ferrero performs better on grass than on clay lately  who'd have thought!!!
It's a pity his career got hampered by injury :( He could have reached much more :(

JC really moves well on the grass and targets his serve very nicely. Plus the fast surface gives his shots (esp the forehand) the little bit of extra pace he lost between 2003-4. hopefully he goes deep here and gets a favorable wimbly draw!

grass is JCF's best surface, not kidding

I think you are right. If I remember correctly John McEnroe said the same thing a few years ago when Ferrero reached the last 8 at Wimbledon.

Corey and ballbasher, I was just gonna post that. Mosquito's grass game has slowly become his best as he gets older. :D He's still good on clay in the smalltime tourneys, but on grass he has abilities younger players don't.

That is true indeed.

This was a really good match. Such a shame it wasn't broadcast on TV. Both players were being very aggressive, they both served well and the winners-UE ratio looked very high.

That was one of the best serving performances I've ever seen from JCF. Turning himself into some sort of Sampras hitting a few 2nd serve aces. I couldn't believe my eyes.

I know it was probably just one of his good days but how I would love to see him play like that more often.

I always classed Ferrero as a Grass court mug after being destroyed by Rusedski at Wimbledon a few years back, however i think his game should suit grass. Big forehand and serve, just needs at many matches as possible, i think he will be back in the top 50 by the US open :)

Exactly. He's still a good mover.
