Both players have 14 GS majors, and both players will attempting to win their 15th GS at the end of June. Woods is trying to reach Jack Nicklaus's 18 majors and Federer has already reached Pete Sampras's 14 majors, and 18 majors aren't out of the question.
It is fascinating to see how both players are chasing history in their own sports, but it seems that they are both challenging and motivating each other everytime they play.

Well, what I was going to put was The Lakers and The Spurs! LOL
I hate to say this, but since the Spurs are out of it, I don't even care about the playoffs. And only randomly follow basketball--really more of a Spur's fan than basketball fan. For some reason, the playoffs just popped into my head.
The rest, I was trying to make-up something. Then, I forgot how to spell KOBE's name. Then, I could only think of Michael Jordon! Then I thought of the Chicago Bulls.
So it was just one big ball of confusion! *sigh*
So I agree! :) Suffice to say, I like basketball--I'm a fan of it, but more from the outside. I couldn't think of an historic rivalry.

These days, Rod Laver would probably win a season slam in golf using his tennis racket, and Jack Nicklaus wipe the floor with Federer and Nadal on the tennis court (him alone against both on the other side of the net), given the mug era we live in.

Problem for Federer is that he's close to retirement, whereas Woods has at least 15 years of prime golf left in him, probably a lot more. Woods will shatter all golf records. Whereas Federer might not even pass Sampras unless Nadal is out with injury:o

I hope that guy at IMG or Nike who campe up with the Woods/Federer comparison and introduced them to each other got a big fat rise, because he really deserves it. It makes no sense whatsoever to compare these two, yet everyone in the media is doing it...

This week in college football, it starts getting personal. Michigan and Ohio State go at it this Saturday, then the next week features such in-state showdowns as Auburn-Alabama, Oklahoma-Oklahoma State, Texas-Texas A&M, Florida-Florida State and, closer to home, Virginia-Virginia Tech. But we want to expand the bad blood and ask what people think the best rivalry is in all sports.
