But then I remember this happening last year with Andy in the doubles - they didn't bother to show his matches there either. Corey Feldman 06-09-2009, 02:00 PM ive seen alot of this Seppi this year scoobs 06-09-2009, 02:27 PM on grass i doubt he'll pose too much of a threat. Corey Feldman 06-09-2009, 02:27 PM remember him beating Muzza in Nottingham a few years ago scoobs 06-09-2009, 07:17 PM that was a very different muzza... Cloudygirl 06-09-2009, 07:54 PM Muzza is not going to lose in round 2. He has been consistent for ages now. (ok please make me not have jinxed him by saying that). scoobs 06-09-2009, 08:06 PM I think you're right. He and Rusty just lost in the doubles 64 63 to Kubot and Marach . Not sure too much should be read into that - they've both had 2 doubles matches now, and with the weather forecast as it is, and having to play so late in not nice conditions today, I wonder how motivated they were to push for a win. There was no TV coverage but in the match previous the court was getting a bit uncertain underfoot and I was surprised they put that match on tonight. amdany 06-10-2009, 04:43 PM nice win for Andy today  keep up the good work! scoobs 06-10-2009, 06:43 PM Looked solid enough, very good first set, perhaps a bit sloppy in the second but stepped up at the end when he needed to to close it out without too much drama. Betty 06-10-2009, 07:26 PM yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss thk for the repport scoob,it's nice for who, like me, cant watch the match:hug: Corey Feldman 06-10-2009, 08:59 PM yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss thk for the repport scoob,it's nice for who, like me, cant watch the match:hug: woma shhh :( you are not allowed to celebrate when he beats one of your countrymen ;) MatchFederer 06-10-2009, 11:07 PM Looked solid enough, very good first set, perhaps a bit sloppy in the second but stepped up at the end when he needed to to close it out without too much drama. his level was roughly the same in the 2nd set with the exception of game one. Seppi got his act together and Murray was passive though reasonably effective throughout the match. Fairly solid but he will get better... Betty 06-11-2009, 11:41 AM woma shhh :( you are not allowed to celebrate when he beats one of your countrymen ;) :ras::o scoobs 06-11-2009, 02:44 PM Muzza through to the QFs with a 64 64 win over GGL Solid performance against a guy who played pretty well. Betty 06-11-2009, 07:18 PM yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! decrepitude 06-11-2009, 07:39 PM Easy peasy so far. He might have to step up a gear tomorrow, and not be too passive, but I think he would have to have a very bad day to lose. scoobs 06-12-2009, 03:21 PM Andy beats Fish pretty comfortably 75 63 - by the end of the first set he was handling the Fish serve much better passing well, and serving huge all match. Excellent performance. Juan Carlos Ferrero awaits in the semis. Betty 06-12-2009, 07:41 PM good to know:D goooooooooooooo Andi-M 06-12-2009, 09:13 PM Been away all week but BBC i-player has got all Andy's matches :hearts: From what Ive seen he is playing really nicely on the green grass, GL Vs Ferrero Andy!!!!! Betty 06-13-2009, 01:14 PM no1 is watching him ans make a report please:Awww. Betty 06-13-2009, 01:39 PM yessssssssssssssssssss final :scared: Andi-M 06-13-2009, 02:41 PM Sexy play from Sexy Andy is my report Betty :p Cloudygirl 06-13-2009, 02:50 PM well done Andy scoobs 06-13-2009, 03:22 PM Nice performance. Lights out in the first set. A bit more workmanlike in the second but still never looked in any real danger of losing this match. Betty 06-13-2009, 08:06 PM Rachel:aplot: i'l miss also the final..until tomorrow night i'll not know the result:bigcry: hope for the best:scared: decrepitude 06-13-2009, 09:53 PM Only 71 years since a Brit last won Queens - no pressure, Andy. . . The way he is playing I'll be surprised if he doesn't win tomorrow. I hope he can keep up this standard for Wimbledon. 16681 06-14-2009, 04:25 AM Only 71 years since a Brit last won Queens - no pressure, Andy. . . The way he is playing I'll be surprised if he doesn't win tomorrow. I hope he can keep up this standard for Wimbledon. Yes I really wish the public over there didn't put so much pressure on their players. But James hasn't been playing well lately (although he did look good against Roddick until Roddick retired with the ankle injury), however, OUR Andy should be able to defeat him :D We don't want to make it 72 years :p scoobs 06-14-2009, 08:41 AM As long as Andy makes sure he gives James no rhythm - plenty of slices, plenty of loopy balls, keep mixing it up...he will get errors. He needs to serve well also. Andi-M 06-14-2009, 01:19 PM Come on Murray!!! Cloudygirl 06-14-2009, 01:20 PM Come on Andy!!! Andi-M 06-14-2009, 01:33 PM 2 all bad service game by Murray Andi-M 06-14-2009, 01:38 PM 3 all cmon Murray, break! Andi-M 06-14-2009, 01:48 PM Blake playing soo well...Andy's brain has disappeared! Andi-M 06-14-2009, 01:54 PM Yes 6-5 Murray now hold!! Cloudygirl 06-14-2009, 01:56 PM Come on Andy Andi-M 06-14-2009, 01:59 PM 1st set 7/5 :D Andi-M 06-14-2009, 02:12 PM 2 all 2nd set Andi-M 06-14-2009, 02:24 PM 4-3 with a break :) scoobs 06-14-2009, 02:26 PM In terms of his performance I think this is actually one of his weaker matches this week. However, he is getting the job done. So far. Andi-M 06-14-2009, 02:53 PM Well done Andy on your 1st grass court title!!! :woohoo: scoobs 06-14-2009, 02:59 PM Excellent result. Poor guy - he said in the interview that he felt nervous today - and no wonder with the media hype machine going into full speed - and after today it will go into overdrive. He will be nervous at Wimbledon too. I hope this week coming his team can keep him calm and keep the media hassles from getting too much in the way, and he can tune it out and focus on himself. decrepitude 06-14-2009, 03:53 PM Andy :worship::worship: He was nervous? I was chewing cushions - at least until midway through the second set, when I relaxed and realised he was going to make it. cath777 06-14-2009, 03:53 PM Great to see Andy with a grass court tournament win under his belt :yeah: Bring on Wimbledon. I'm not sure he'll win it this year, but I think he has a good shot to win it in the future. amdany 06-14-2009, 04:44 PM congrats Andy for your win  Betty 06-14-2009, 07:49 PM yes:banana::D so rachel he really didn tsmoke it but win it;) let 's go to wimbly:scared::p Corey Feldman 06-14-2009, 07:54 PM he won, Betty woman... you should go on holiday every week ;) Cloudygirl 06-14-2009, 07:59 PM So proud of him! scoobs 06-14-2009, 08:00 PM Andy :worship::worship: He was nervous? I was chewing cushions - at least until midway through the second set, when I relaxed and realised he was going to make it. I felt pretty calm throughout, I just felt he was routining his way to the win this week. I got a bit nervous as that first set got tight at the end but once he had that under the belt, I was fine. Betty 06-14-2009, 08:15 PM ok me always in holiday and rachel opens all tourney thread:p 16681 06-15-2009, 02:44 AM I'm glad Andy won :D But I didn't think he played that well and yet won in straight sets  I don't know if that is a good or bad sign  Do any of you here know how to rate a thread? I noticed that no thread has any stars here. What you do is go to page one of this thread and you will see the words rate thread click on that and you will get to vote by number of stars to show what you think of the thread. If enough people vote excellent, the thread will get 5 stars (the highest rating possible). I think since Andy is the 1st Brit to win Queens in 71 years this should be a 5 star thread for sure :D I have already voted excellent myself :D :D :D Getta 06-15-2009, 03:38 AM what's gonna happen then? Turquoise 06-15-2009, 03:52 AM Congratulations Andy! Fantastic achievement! :hatoff: :worship: I've been so impressed with him all week - he played very efficiently, stepped up a gear when he needed to gain key breaks in each set, always seemed to have more in reserve if need be... great preparation and mindset for Wimbledon. spaycehoppa 06-15-2009, 01:01 PM Congratulations Andy! Hope he does great at Wimby. | |
