Green green grass!

No pressure for Nole at all on grass. In Halle there's Roger Federer the many times defending champion and in Wimbledon he had a shock loss last year. Liberate yourself and play your heart out, Nole! :)

I see. I wondered why Nole suddenly decided to play - clearly offered powerful inducements. Have always assumed Roger was fairly groupie-proof, even more so now, so guess who will be the main attraction. And with NRW lacking many other diversions - well they'll be boggling on all cylinders.

Yes indeed. Though I have no idea about Aegon - maybe they will be able to keep a similar colour scheme? The whole mixture of the red banners against the green grass and the old Club House, was very synonomous with the image of Queens - they may not want to change it too much?

ATP - GERRY WEBER OPEN, HALLE

Dear fans

I am sorry to announce that I have decided to withdraw from this week's Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Germany.

I sincerely apologize to the tournament organizers, my competitors, and my fans in Germany. I only hope they will understand that I still feel emotionally overwhelmed and exhausted by the incredible events of the past few days. It is hard for me to admit, but I simply cannot imagine giving my best effort in another tournament right away and I don't want to risk injury if I am not 100% prepared. I need to rest and recuperate.

I look forward to returning to Halle in 2010 to go for my sixth title. It is one of my favorite events on the ATP World Tour.

I also want to thank all of you for your unbelievable support these past two weeks. You are the best, and you helped me make a dream come true.

Roger

Long story. Our Herdwick doesn't like him so much, so she once christened him Satanic Butterfly - butterfly obviously because of his likeness to Mohamed Ali with his "floats like a butterfly, strings like a bee"thing. In time that just got shorted to SB.
