Just read the girls' interview and must say that Dinara gave the shortest answeres ever. :rolls:

Then we have Svetlana saying this

Q. You had to wait for five years. Do you know why? Was it also foryou, because you had so many emotions inside, time for you to learn to controlthe emotions and show your best game?

SVETLANA KUZNETSOVA: It's like this because God wants to be likethis. I work hard and I still did hardwork every year and tried to do my best here. It's very important tournament for me, because it's full of emotions.

I lost twice: once to Anastasia, and then she won, I hadmatch point up and I lost to a champion. Then I lost to Justine Henin, match ball up, and missed like this. Then I lost final. I had opportunities.

I said I just gonna keep trying and keepworking and keep doing this. This isfinally my trophy. I'm really happy, andnobody one can it off me. I have wonRoland Garros and I have won US Open, and this is it. I don't know why five years, ten years, whatever. I'm have it now. This is it.

So do I :awww: But I think we always knew this would happen. Robin has done do well to get this far and exceeded all expectations. And now he's reached the final, he's just mentally and emotionally exhausted from his win over Nadal etc and the pressure is too much for him.

Maybe under "normal" circumstances, the crowd would have lifted him a bit because they normally cheer for the underdog and want a good match, but this French crowd are so far up Roger's **** :spit: that they just want to see any opponent destroyed. Anyway - the Fed fans will hate me saying this, but deep down everyone knows that this win will always be a little discredited without Nadal, Murray or Novak as a Top 4 opponent :tape: so let 's let them all enjoy the moment :D I'm off to prepare dinner - I don't like to watch it at all

Yes he could - and what I don't understand is how these people get near to the courts in the first place? The normal public seats on Chatrier, are quite a long way back from the court, so someone would have to clamber over quite a few boxes and "loges" to reach the court. Both finals were duds.

I'm happy for Federer. :) He came out strong today and really handled the pressure well. Only the 6th man in history to win a career slam! :worship: Amazing achievement. :worship:

 for Soderling. Not a good showing here after such a great tournament, but fantastic result. :clap2: The occasion finally got to him and also probably the fact that he's never played this many matches in a tournament before. (and then Fed being ON from the beginning didn't help)

Time for grass! :rocker2:

Soderling's speech was pretty awesome. Kudos to him for such a great tournament. He had really impressive scalps (seriously, Ferrer, Nadal, Davydenko and Gonzo back to back? :worship: ) and it's a shame that the final couldnt have been a more competitive affair.

But can't deny I am over the moon for Fed right now! Siigh. :inlove:

Good speech from Robin too - seems like a funny guy.

He may have lifted the trophy but he still needed all his rivals gone to do it. Bah, whatever. I hope the grass season pans out more interesting.
