Do you think Nadal is more entertaining on hard-courts?

I'd definitely say so. Anyone who thinks he's just a retriever (especially on hard-courts) failed to notice that he hit 50 winners in the Australian Open final to Federer's 71 - definitely more than just retrieving. I think he definitely goes for more winners on hard-courts which makes for more entertaining tennis.

On clay he generally waits for the errors. His best surface of course, but it's not that fun to watch him on it most of the time.

Yes, Australia definitely has a lot of work to do if they want to improve their players' results on clay.

Well his oppenants are better on HC making it a fairer thus more entertaining contest.

so you have been going without entertainment for a while now.

there is no significant change in the trend either so you know what that means.

More time spent out on the hard-court = more ass-scratching/picking < less entertainment value. That boy must go through underwear like he does new racquets.

You're looking too much into AJ's post. He's not that bright. Actually he got his mod badge in a quiz at a local Swedish tv network.

I remember in the Aust Open final at 2-2 in the 2nd set Nadal already had hit 11 backhand winners.

I think it's much more entertaining watching Rafa on HC for two main reasons:

1. the competition is stronger, `cuz no one truly sucks on HC
2. the HC game comes to him much less naturally than clay for example, he has to try harder, work harder and it gives much more spice to the game ;)

Why? Are you Hitler's grandchild, or what?
What player do you support? No matter what your answer is, he doesn't attract as much crowd as Nadal does. So what? Is everybody stupid except you and a few other haters? Give us a break, and go for a run if you are stressed.

Obviously. Every player is more entertaining on hard courts....as the hard courts reward shotmaking and aggressive, courageous play.

In last ten years, Spain has won three times the Davis Cup (2000, 2004 and 2008).
Today, the best player of the world with a difference of more than 5000 points is Rafael Nadal, a player from Spain.

SUCCESS IS VERY ENTERTAINING FOR THE WINNER, AND VERY BORING FOR THE LOSER.

Now, keep watching your country's failure, whatever it is, and entertain yourself with their defeats.

For sure. He's more aggressive on those surfaces, simply because he has to be.

Defensive moonballing error-forcing tennis can win on clay but it won't cut it anywhere else, hence he fine-tunes his game after RG.

Grinding and retrieving is a quite a successful way of playing tennis. It doesn't make for great entertainment though.

It would be more entertaining and interesting to see Nadal losing at the FO final.. not that I want him to lose.. but would he cry like what Fed did at the AO?

Nadal didn't cry at the 07 Wimbledon ceremony, and that was the worst loss of his life and probably the worst loss he'll ever experience.
