Seeded Players

The seedings for the menís and ladiesí singles will be announced on 17 June.

From 2001, 32 players have been seeded in the Gentlemenís and Ladies' Singles. These are the top 32 players on the ATP Entry System Position (ESP) and the WTA Tour ranking. The former list is arranged on a surface-based system to reflect more accurately the individual playerís grass court achievement as per the following formula:

1. ESP points as at a week before The Championships
2. Add 100% points earned for all grass court tournaments in the past 12 months
3. Add 75% points earned for best grass court tournament in the 12 months before that.

For the Ladies, the seeding order follows the ranking list, except where in the opinion of the Committee, the grass court credentials of a particular player necessitates a change in the interest of achieving a balanced draw.

Crivoi also in the MD  Great accomplishment, but many players will look to draw him in the 1R. Virtually no experience on grass, and when I saw him in Wimbledon qualies two years back he smashed his racquet after the match :haha: It took him about ten tries to properly make a dent in it though.

With Nadal only saying he's going to be travelling to London on Tuesday, those on the Alt list must be cursing him as it means it's going to be Lucky Loser that replaces him should he decide not to play.

Rafa Nadal is hoping to play a Wimbledon warm-up match at the Hurlingham Club on Friday.
The world No.1 is due to arrive in London today. He played Hurlingham in 2006 and 2007 and said: "It would be a good test for my knee." (Daily Mail)

Melzer plans to fly to England on Friday. He is being treated for his back problem and will decide whether to play or not once he is in England. I believe he will be able to play although his back will still be hurting.

is Canas considered as a wild-card (0 point) or as a direct entry (10 points) ?Alternates that become direct acceptances receive 10 points (the same number as the other direct acceptances) for R128 losses:

Thanks :yeah: I didn't know that they were allowed to give less wild cardsIt doesn't happen too often.

In 2008, the AELTC awarded only 4/8 main draw (& 7/9 qualifying) wild cards for Wimbledon.

Also in Marseille 2009, one main draw wild card was not awarded. In that case, the qualifying had already started so a lucky loser got IN instead of an alternate:

I wondered the same but was surprised that he had no fans forum

I guess it's OK as he's also in the doubles entry-list.

If he's OK, he's got a good draw ;)
