Roddick the clay warrior will take this in 3 tight sets.

Only way Roddick loses this is if his wife calls him up for an annulment half-way through the match.

Andy will probably gove a walkover. He wants to come to RG being unbeaten on clay.

Roddick in 3. Shock the world, Andy.

05-14-2009, 04:03 PM
wow they played 19 matches and not once on clay, of course Roddick is to blame for this one...

Fed in straights, not as easy as today's match though.

expect alot of suicide approaches and brilliant passing shots, no need to name who's who.

Andy would own Fed if they met more often on clay. You heard it here first.

Yeah, certainly. Roddick's long list of clay achievements definately backs that statement!

So, finally it will happen. We know Roddick is the turkey of the century on hardcourt and grass against Federer but on clay it could be a different story. Roddick surely has been waiting for this day to come for a long time.

What do you say, will Roddick get his sweet revenge on the red clay against Federer?

marcRD

I really didnt see this poll had been done.

Nah, Roddick will always be a clown on clay. He's in QF because Haas is a huge old mug these days and because Kolya decided to wack off a bit rest.

Federer will win in straight sets.

if Roger loses against Roddick on clay, then he should retire
I hope this comes out as 18-2 but you never know with Roger these days :o
still, if he loses, I think it might be a tank job :o

Losing in tennis is certainly better than losing against Djoker, Murray and Nadal dozens of times (despite having the Miami match robbed from Nadal). Losing in tennis is nothing compared to losing the personality (I'm Federina. Davydenko is great and will win!!!! :o ) and beauty contest.

Fed really should win 2 and 2 or something similar.

If he gets pushed to 3 or loses then retirement should be on the cards.

Roddick can't win a match on grass and hardcourt against Federer to save his life so what more for clay.

pica_pica
05-14-2009, 07:10 PM
It's ridiculous that it's their 20th meeting but only 1st on clay
I think Federer in 2 but the 2 sets could be close.

If Andy could somehow find it within himself to beat Fed....on clay....while out of shape and coming off of a layoff.....well that would just be an epic win. Andy in 3 baby!

Federer in two! How can Roddick be a favorite to win? Do you guys have respect for the clay court season and Roger as a 2nd/3rd clay court player on ATP? You guys have so much faith and trust in Roddick's clay court performance. Rogie is the man and this tourney is his to take!

markd

This is such an absurd match (and I really like Andy) that Roddick almost has to win. He can't beat Fed anywhere so why not beat him on clay? It would be the match of the year of he can pull this off...

Actually he beat him once only! The second time he just confirmed it.

It's so sad the amount of times Andy has to recover from the psychological blow of another loss to Federer. The man's a champion. :worship:
