Interesting match to watch. Not your average claycourter match. Both players trying to close the point as fast as possible. Could really have gone either way, but I'm really glad James managed to snatch it in the end. I've always enjoyed a Federer-Blake match. Except for the in Olympics last summer. I thought it was something wrong with the machine at the Copenhagen train station when I saw the result.

Proof of what I've been trying to say, Ivo Karlovic is the second best player on clay.

Yup, it's only fair to put Isner first.

Very important win for Blake's self-confidence after pathetic loss to Montanes in Estoril :yeah:
His final set TB record is stil awful though :o

Yeea...you're pickin' up what I'm putting down. Do you want to tell them or do you want me to? John vs. Ivo...Roland Garros Final 09'.

I'm like Nostradamus but more accurate and without a beard.

Forget nonsense like Roland Garros, the true clay goats play Bogota. 2600m altitude ..... 175mph second serves anyone?

Nico Lapentti is not only MP goat but also clay goat - won Bogota in his ATP debut :worship:

This court is talior made for blake's ball bashing. Watch out for James, who has imported 30 portugese to form a JBlock.

Who'd of ever THUNK it!?

For shits and giggles I'd love to see James pull off one more "clay" surprise before it strikes midnight and this fairytale comes to a crashing halt.

Nice job James against an opponent you find tough. :yeah:

Karlovic sucks. He really just is all serve. 26 aces yet couldn't find enough game elsewhere to consolidate his 'unbreakable' serve.

Now, Blake will prove his Davis Cup champion calibur level. He can brag that he didn't lose serve in the last set, while Federer lost his serve on clay against Soderling.

People say Roddick can't win without his serve but Karlovic can't seem to win with it. :)

Yeah, Ivo really is pretty weak these days, his game beyond the serve is going backwards.

It's not just 26 aces either - even of the non-aces, he won 32/39 first serve points, 82%! Outside Queens or maybe the new Basel, I think Madrid is probably the place where his serve is at its most dangerous, because of the high airspeed + irregular/high bounce.
