Is was great to see JCF on the TV again. He had his moments when he looked like his old confident aggressive self but few and far between. He's still visibly low on matches and self-belief but with the right draw he could still make a run at Roland Garros.

As for Verdasco, nothing the oppo can do when he's painting lines like that. He struggled with a couple high put-aways but otherwise too good.

Good summary.
Nando started a little shaky, but he got better and better as the match went on. But JC had his good moments too. I hope he will get good preparations for RG...!

Never in doubt.

Put a fork in JCF, he's DONE. It's sad because he was such a great player and fun to watch but he isn't even 25% of what he used to be. I sense Safin, Hewitt, Haas and JCF will all retire within 2-3 years of one another.

Versdasco just overpowered Ferrero with his forehand, it really is one of the great shots in tennis. Im a big fan of Ferrero and he tried his best, its just the standard has risen since his peak and he's lost his touch with age and injury. Still worth a place in the Masters events for sure.

Nando. :yeah:

Solid start at his home tournament. Ferrer or Monaco will be the real test but I'm sure he can deliver.
