Chiakifug 05-08-2009, 05:43 PM Masterclass of serving from both. :D Sapeod 05-08-2009, 05:44 PM Glad that Sipusher lost :D Go Monty. Beat Crapdevil and then beat Blake the Flake or Donkey :D Mint Chip 05-08-2009, 05:44 PM Had match point and 4-1 and loses to this prick.Unexpected result  gaitare 05-08-2009, 05:49 PM Great stuff Albert, good for the game this result. No, it's not :) Gilles still caught between his old game and his new game, as if he read GM too often and didn't want to be labeled "pusher" anymore, goes for his shots way too early for his standards for a few months now, and just has too many ideas at the moment, which makes his basic game suffer. But he'll resurrect his tennis sooner than later. roberthenman 05-08-2009, 05:52 PM Great Victory Albert :worship: you should top 30 sure ;) :p GL in semis , match open  Voo de Mar 05-08-2009, 05:52 PM Simon has turned from mental-giant into mental midget lately. Montanes is boring but definitely he isn't a choker. I don't know a single ATP match where he lost after wasting MP, maybe he's a record holder in this department because he has already played more than 150 ATP tournaments. rocketassist 05-08-2009, 05:53 PM Expected result on clay...Simon looks like a gimp on this surface. rhinooooo 05-08-2009, 05:54 PM Very funny match. The first four times Monty broke Simon, he got broken straight back. Was serving for the set at *5-4, had 5 sp's, got broken then lost the set 7-5. Fought to break in the first set, only to get broken back again. Eventually took it 6-4. Simon 4-1* up in the third, and had one MP on Monty's serve at *5-6 but couldn't get it done. Alot of momentum shifts. Gretchen. 05-08-2009, 06:00 PM Gillou :ras: Sapeod 05-08-2009, 06:02 PM Very funny match. The first four times Monty broke Simon, he got broken straight back. But he'll resurrect his tennis sooner than later. :) Good post. Simple better describes the MTF view of Simon's game. I agree with you completely -- he's a thoughtful player, but he's over-thinking and pushing too hard (to hit winners :D) of late. Doggy, you better have a special punishment in store for him for squandering this one. :o GlennMirnyi 05-08-2009, 06:21 PM Nadal? Different stuff. Moonballers ≠ pushers. MalwareDie 05-08-2009, 06:37 PM Expected result. Simon has always been a mug, especially on clay. rocketassist 05-08-2009, 07:02 PM Different stuff. Moonballers ≠ pushers. Suppose but it's still winning on the basis of a barrage of UEs by the man on the other side of the net. Nadal could hit 0 winners in a clay event and still dish out bagels and breadsticks. Nadal could hit 0 winners in a clay event and still dish out bagels and breadsticks. Flat pushing shots have no kick, it's not like they're going to encourage someone to go for too much like moonballs do. Laba 05-08-2009, 08:10 PM Simon. :help: scarecrows 05-08-2009, 08:27 PM well done Albert tennisfan444 05-08-2009, 08:28 PM :( Nichele Hull 05-08-2009, 10:31 PM Simon's worst loss of the year by a long shot :o Sapeod 05-08-2009, 10:40 PM Simon's worst loss of the year by a long shot :o Albert isn't that bad :o He's a very good player on clay. Simon just had a bad day and he hasn't been in particularly good form. Simon's worst loss was definately the one to Zverev in Rome. Nichele Hull 05-08-2009, 11:00 PM Albert can't serve his way out of a paper bag and he was serving better than Simon!I would be embrassed :o hes another Spanish monnballer :( malisha 05-08-2009, 11:03 PM good for the game this result. always good to see versatile player beat one dimensional Monty:yeah: Doggy 05-08-2009, 11:44 PM BOO! you whore. :secret: but i would still tap you Pfloyd 05-09-2009, 12:13 AM Simon  And he said he was best at clay. I hope he can play well in Madrid so he can have a decent French Open. miura 05-09-2009, 12:19 AM Gilles :ras: Smoke944 05-09-2009, 03:22 AM Yessss awesome stuff Albert, now beat Capdeville :yeah: Machiavelli 05-09-2009, 07:15 AM Expected result, the way better player won this match... Go home Simon and learn how to hit a winner... His game is read like an open book, give him back an easy ball and let him go for the winner, no way you can lose to Simon then, the guy can't hit a winner to save his life... Minotaur 05-09-2009, 07:32 AM Personally i don't think it's a choke by all means. Remember i saw remarks of people who commented on Simon's match versus Fognini and stated that Gilles's game is still very bad. I watched him versus Zvereve in Rome and should say that he hits too many errors and his confidence is low. Here in a hard way consolidated 41 lead in the 3rd set but playing ugly he couldn't win. And actually the player who seems to be playing better actually won. Montanes like a spaniard on clay fights for every point and he seems to be in a good form. Generally Simon is indeed a better player but poor form contributed to his loss. It should be mentioned that Simon's bad run continues since the beginning of the year. He played that bad even in Marseille but now he ran out of luck and gets losses like this. It's a matter of time he will get into form. Merton 05-09-2009, 09:22 AM Excellent stuff from Montanes, but not surprising on clay. | |
