I guess the windy conditions are affecting him from getting his rhythm. Same for Davydenko. This match is pretty much an error-fest. LCeh 08-16-2004, 04:56 PM :scared: Come on Roger, please hold... :o ~EMiLiTA~ 08-16-2004, 04:58 PM 6-3 5-6...that's as much as i can see...can anyone update me further? Cervantes 08-16-2004, 05:03 PM Yes, the coordinates of the channel, the two you found are on 12110 or something like that, the one you need is on 11954. I just dont think it bodes well for the #1 to be losing serve numerous times when serving for a set or a match. He did that in Toronto also against I think both Arazi and Solderling. That's not good. ytben 08-16-2004, 05:10 PM Rogi :D :D :D Now please hold your serve! calimero 08-16-2004, 05:10 PM ok, come on rogi!!!! I just dont think it bodes well for the #1 to be losing serve numerous times when serving for a set or a match. He did that in Toronto also against I think both Arazi and Solderling. That's not good. Me thinking the same :( He has done it for several times which is not bearable. :( asotgod 08-16-2004, 05:12 PM Hey dirk, what's up? calimero 08-16-2004, 05:12 PM ok, keep goin rogi! asotgod 08-16-2004, 05:14 PM Yeah yanchr. He can keep doing that or else his major opponents will start getting confident. He needs to be able to serve out a set or a match effectively, no matter what. I guess he needs to calm down more and find a central point between going for his shots and making sure they are played into the court. Raquel 08-16-2004, 05:14 PM Davydenko *1-3 15-0 ?? 15-15 - Davydenko nets backhand 15-30 - Davydenko goes long on forehand 30-30 - Davydenko comes forward, Roger mis-hits forehand wide 30-40 - Brilliant forehand from Roger, Davydenko's shot goes high and long Game Federer - STUNNING defence from Roger - 2 smashes back! I think Rogi have to find his rhytm. nd he will raise his game for sure! its always difficult first round matches....even if ur #1 in the world!!!! dylan24 08-16-2004, 05:16 PM the other 2 times federer and davydenko have played federer wins the first set davydenko wins the 2nd set federer wins the 3rd set looks like this match will go the same way as the previous two other matches ytben 08-16-2004, 05:16 PM Rogiiiiiiiiii :D :D :D Now hold please +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ calimero 08-16-2004, 05:17 PM goooo ROGI!! :D Black Adam 08-16-2004, 05:17 PM Go Roger! You are on the right track man! Keep your serve and confirm your double Break! asotgod 08-16-2004, 05:18 PM calimero, I understand all of that and that Davydenko is a tough competitor. Nevertheless, it is not good for a #1 to keep losing serve when serving for a set, or like today, a match. It's not all about the rhythm and the court. If he could get himself to a position of serving for a set or a match, he must learn to serve it out. Whatsoever, he needs to improve that, he needs to. Raquel 08-16-2004, 05:18 PM Roger *4-1 0-15 - Long rally, Roger nets a backhand 15-15 - Big second serve down middle, Davydenko can't return it in 30-15 - Davydenko nets backhand return. Ninja is making him pay dearly for winning that set. calimero 08-16-2004, 05:20 PM ok, rogi...break him now again..!!!! Raquel 08-16-2004, 05:20 PM Davydenko *1-5 0-15 - Roger forces Davydenko to go long 0-30 - Beautiful backhand down the line pass from Roger 0-40 - Amazing lunge cross court volley from Roger forces error Game set match, Roger - Davydenko goes into net Roger Federer d Davydenko 6-3, 5-7, 6-1 :bounce: Dirk 08-16-2004, 05:21 PM Its just the first round. Ninja will get more with it later on in the event. Davey can be tough. Ninja is making the most of his 2nd chance to close it out. LCeh 08-16-2004, 05:21 PM :woohoo: asotgod 08-16-2004, 05:22 PM The good part of this match is that Roger is serving and volleying a lot. That will be necessary in other matches as well as the U.S Open. He sometimes get too caught up in baseline rallies or too comfortable in his abilities to rally that he forgets to come to the net to finish up points or make returning difficult for his opponents. When opponents see him serve and volleying, they cannot just take full swings at returns. Hence, he makes them guess what he is up to. ytben 08-16-2004, 05:23 PM Rogi :woohoo: :woohoo: Great job!!!! Although my nerves can do without that second set choking. Good luck in your second round :bounce: Cervantes 08-16-2004, 05:23 PM Well done Roger! tschaeggy 08-16-2004, 05:24 PM bravo Roger, he did it :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:    yupeeeeeeeeeee asotgod 08-16-2004, 05:24 PM True Dirk. Guess I expect way too much from him. He is human as well. Hopefully, he will get into the thick of things and win the gold here. That will be really nice. calimero 08-16-2004, 05:24 PM goooo ninja!!! happy that he took that 3th set so easy! he will raise his game for the further matches...I'm sure! good luck rogi! u r looking for gold....nd u gonna get gold! yanchr 08-16-2004, 05:24 PM CONGRATS ROGER FOR A TOUGH FIRST ROUND WIN!!! Well me too was disapointed that he didn't finish in two. But loosing that game just showed that Roger is no Robot after all - and I belive he was much more nervous than he approves to be. Only shows how much he want a medal (preferably the dgolden one) here. Keep going Roger!! Cervantes 08-17-2004, 11:40 AM @Cervantes: 11954 H 27500 3/4 I finally found the other 2 German digital channels, the tennis was on channel 532 so that's why I couldn't find it earlier. Any live update on the score will be greatly appreciated. jtipson 08-17-2004, 02:21 PM Sorry, not here at least. We have volleyball, sailing, badminton and judo on right now, but no tennis at all. Even when the BBC do go to it, I think it will be the main court, and not court one. ytben 08-17-2004, 02:25 PM Jtipson you keep bringing me bad news :p Sigh, I guess I will have to count on that lousy nbc scoreboard. jtipson 08-17-2004, 02:28 PM Do I? My apologies! The W-UE ratio is 6-9 for Rogi and 3-15 for Thomas. asotgod 08-17-2004, 02:40 PM ytben, much better than yesterday. Almost every match seems to be on the negative. Maybe the Athenians cannot differentiate between a forced and an unforced error. Raquel 08-17-2004, 02:46 PM We have Venus Williams on in the UK so I can't give updates today  Hopefully, he's playing well. Hopp Rogi! ytben 08-17-2004, 02:48 PM  yeah that may be it. I'm really mad, my cable have 6 channels for Olympics. Three are empty right now showing nothing but the schedule  They can use one of those to show some tennis. RogiFan88 08-17-2004, 02:53 PM Crap, the German "tennis"-channel is showing a recording of Ferrero-Fish. Hopefully they will show Federer later on. Crap is the word, esp since poor Juanqui lost...  I wanted him to end up on the podium, Marat too... OK, Rogi, easy 2nd set today, OK? GO, ROGI!!! OPA!!!! ;) ;) asotgod 08-17-2004, 02:56 PM ytben, It's true the wind and the surface itself are factors, but I think it's a combination of forced and unforced errors, unlike it's stated on the Olympic website. ytben 08-17-2004, 02:57 PM    Me too RF, I was so happy when both Juanqui and Marat won their first match easily. Thought they have pretty good chances in this tournament. ytben 08-17-2004, 03:00 PM 1 all. Let's break him now Rogi! Sending +++++++++++++++++++++ vibes to Rogi. Lady Natalia 08-17-2004, 03:00 PM Its so sad that it's this challenging to get live updated scores. I uses Athens2004.com and ITF's website and they both are inaccurate and slow as hell. We would never had this problem getting scores for a GS. This is supposed to be the great Olympics. asotgod 08-17-2004, 03:01 PM Juan Carlos Ferrero lost because of lack of confidence, but based on his game, I think he can be a threat at the U.S Open. Marat is just a headcase. I am so disappointed in him. You cant have that much talent just to not be able to put it to use rightly. He gives up too easily. Laundgren has a lot of work to do in the next six months, or it will be getting close to over for Safin. Pretty dismal performance. ytben 08-17-2004, 03:02 PM Exactly my lady ;) This is really pathetic considering this is Olympics. Lady Natalia 08-17-2004, 03:20 PM Come one Rogi, take this match in 2 sets!!
