Yes. I detest the polos that Nike has him wearing. They don't fit right and the stripe looks stupid - emphasizes his rather narrow shoulders. They make him look like a 14-year-old doofus who can't dress himself properly instead of a powerful tennis player.

He has worn polos in practice and playing golf that look okay, but the match clothing is horrid.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I'm a subscriber of the Singapore version of Star Sports Asia and they are not showing the ATP Masters coverage for Indian Wells and the upcoming Miami. Instead it is now shown (and will be shown) on Supersports channel which I adored cos no ads!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sorry that you are unable to view live coverage of the ATP Masters for these 2 tournaments. :sad:

I think Roger dresses well at tennis events. Wish Rafa can do that too. Rafa looks better when he attends off-court events eg. his dressing when he went to watch Real Madrid.

I do like the seafoam green bandana and wristbands, and at least they got rid of that pointless pocket, but it seems to me that Rafa's team has decided to make the extraordinary Rafa ordinary for some reason. The shirt and shorts neither fit nor flatter.

I also miss seeing him with the sleveless tops and pirate pants.

Personally I think Rafa's new on court outfits have class and appeal to a broader range of tennis players.

As I saw at Indian Wells last month, Rafa must be aware of fan nostalgia and wore pants a couple of times.

A tough match for Rafa. Potro played better than Rafa at the crucial points. It may be a blessing in disguise as he can have a good rest (and some tlc from Xisca) before the clay season.

Well, it's shorter than it used to be but for me it's OK.

Nadal Presented With 2008 ATP Player of the Year Award

ATP board member Zeljko Franulovic presented Rafael Nadal with the 2008 ATP Player of the Year Award during La Grande Nuit du Tennis of the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters on Friday night.
The Spaniard will compete in the semi-finals of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 clay-court tennis tournament against World No. 4 Andy Murray on Saturday, as he attempts to win his fifth successive title in the principality.

The prestigious award was bestowed on the 22-year-old Nadal after an exceptional 2008 season. The Mallorca native was the first Spaniard to be crowned ATP World Tour champion after becoming the first left-hander to finish No. 1 in the South African Airways ATP Rankings since John McEnroe in 1984.

The Manacor resident became the first player since Bjorn Borg in 1980 to win the Roland Garros and Wimbledon titles in the same year and led the ATP World Tour season with eight tour-level titles in total and 82 match wins. He also helped Spain to the Davis Cup title by winning all three of his matches during the year.

Nadal has opened the 2009 season in similarly devastating form - winning his sixth Grand Slam championship, and first on hard court, at the Australian Open (d. Federer) and claiming his 13th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tennis tournament at Indian Wells (d. Murray).

Well, they both play guard. Ricky Rubio is 190cm tall (6'3) and J.C. Navarro 191cm. Rafa is 185cm tall (6'1) and that's why they don't look that tall.

I'm totally with the graduate on this but I have to say his body language is more worrying at the moment than his look... :sad:

When you "tinker" with something and shouldn't the players are confused. I guess the thinking was well we have blue hard courts why not blue clay? But that is just weird it is also a new facility so maybe they need to "iron out a few wrinkles".

First of all forgive me for my bad english, I hope you'll understand what I mean....

As Rafa remarked in his press the problem is that the blue clay is slower than the usual red one, in Madrid they already have problem with the altitude and here they have to add another one: a player trains on a slower surface and when he's about to match he has to play and accustom himself on a quicker clay....quite annoying I think.
Rafa also complained for so few training courts: most players were obliged to wait in a queue....unbelievable! :sad:
