Tell me about it.. I saw a documentary on the ballet dancer Margot Fonteyn last week. It made me look on the internet for famous ballet dancers. So I see this name, Mikhail Baryshnikov. I'm like 'hey I know this name!'
Appearantly he's the guy from Sex & The City that Carrie dates

You didnt know??? Oh he is WAY BIG in ballet..a genius I would say...but he immigrated years ago

If I remember correct they pronounce NikIta in the movie and Elton John sings NikIta. So I thought NikIta is a famale name outside Russia and it was pronouned NikitA in Russia in order not to sound funny for russians.

I remember my history teacher (she was english) discussing Khrushchev. First about him being called a girl's name and then about ... "K-R-OO-SH-CHEV" (WRONG pronounciation). About how it sounds a bit like German...

Disclaimer: I don't mean to insult Germany or it's people. Or even the language.

Fur store.

It's a store/transit base. Furs come from all over the world and i hang them in the shop. They remain there for a few months for people to buy a few and i pack the rest up and send to Moscow. Most furs need to be repacked and sent t o Moscow right away though... That's what i do. Once a week mostly.

I don't, not really anyway. I'd never wear a big furry coat because of the status, i just don't like the view. But honestly, if I saw a nice bag with fur in a store (like a few weeks ago) I would still buy it

I mean, some people are so much against fur but at the same time they forget where the meat on their plate comes from. If you think those cows/chickens/salmons don't suffer or are bred just for consumption you're being ignorant imo.

I think a wedding is not fun at all for the couple. So much stress in preparing it! And at the day itself you're stressed out, and at the party you have to go to all the tables and chat to everyone and stand there, shaking 6584582 hands and receiving twice as many kisses

I think a wedding is not fun at all for the couple. So much stress in preparing it! And at the day itself you're stressed out, and at the party you have to go to all the tables and chat to everyone and stand there, shaking 6584582 hands and receiving twice as many kisses

Of course it's something you want to share with your family etc but if I had the choice I wouldn't get married. my grandmother might kill me though. Thou shall not live in sin
not fun is putting it mildly :o i think i'd rather have all my teeth yanked out then ever go through the living hell of a wedding again. living in sin is much more fun and a lot less stressful, as long as you ignore grandma's   at her sinful grandchildren

Lovely dogs, very nice pics of Marat!!! I can usually tell when the pics were made by looking at his shorts, nowadays however it is by looking at his hair :o

Sorry to hear you sis got divorced so soon, but it's for the best. No point in staying together if you can't live together. Looking at the bright side, they didn't have children yet. :)

I would like to get married, but the reason why I don't want a (big) wedding is cause I don't like being in the spotlight. Hopefully my wedding, which will be a traditional moroccan one, will be in Morocco. Real Moroccan atmosphere AND affordable. I'm definitely not greedy, but just don't want to spend so much money on a wedding. The commitment itself is the most important thing and not trying to impress others with your party.

weddings don't have to cost a bomb & I didn't find it stressful to plan at all - my friends/family know me and therefore knew that I would do whatever I wanted to do ... and trust me, the couple DO have fun ... we had a gorgeous wedding, lots of champagne, fantastic weather, some more champagne, the most beautiful photos, a bit more champagne, a great wedding reception, and yes, more champagne  ... and at the end of the night we invited a few of our closest friends back to the honeymoon suite and we partied on for a few more hours ... but then for some strange reason Hubby insisted everyone leave :aplot:

I would certainly say it was one of the best days of my life ... my cheeks hurt from smiling ... and I didn't want to get out of my dress!!

lol, okay.
Well maybe it is a good thing ;). I once went with a friend to the wedding shop in Le Printemps Haussman in Paris (called La boutique Blanche), it freaked me out. I've never been interested in weddings, i don't want to get married... and going there just scared me.
There are little grannies everywhere, checking their list for what they'll buy to their granddaughters, and loads of posh middle-aged women so proud of their daughters getting married... And it looks like they feel at home in this shop! I mean some ppl go watch horse races as a hobby, those women spend a whole afternoon in the wedding shop

And the things you find there! I hated every little set of tableware i saw. All is white, with a little strip of gold around, or with huge kitsch drawings :o Sorry if i just described one of you's tableware guys, no offense! (that's quite what my mom have anyway!).. That's just not what i'd like to have at home.
It's too classic, too cold, and not original enough. It's too traditional. this is what i dislike in a wedding ceremony, and in the marriage in general: the weight of traditions, the weight of family... it makes me want to :bolt:

I've promised myself i'd never enter such a shop anymore in my life :o :p

eurm ... my tableware is white with a gold stripe around the outside  :o :o :o LMAO ... and yes we got the whole she-bang for our wedding :o :rolls: ... the table does look gorgeous when it's all laid nicely with wine glasses, candles etc (like at christmas-time) ... our everyday tableware is a really funky square type though :yeah: ... so I guess I can go traditional or modern ... that's me!

and yes, those wedding shops scare me ... I'm always scared I might break something frightfully expensive! ... whenever we buy a wedding gift we always look at the most 'personal' thing on the wedding list and get that, no matter how silly it is ... for example, my friend wanted an electric hedge trimmer for her garden  ... so we got her that (and as a joke I also got one of those mini-'personal' shavers for your bikini line ... so she could keep her other 'hedges' trimmed) :haha: ... she was LHAO when she got the gift!

weddings are what you make of them ... we've been to everything from the stiff, formal traditional types ... to a cocktail party where the couple suddenly announced that they were getting married right then and there  ... we've been to a wedding in the middle of a field ... and one on an island in the middle of Sydney Harbour :yeah: ...

The worst i've been to was my cousin's wedding 10 or 12 years ago... Her fiancé and her had a child already. He was a baby. So when they got married they also decided to have the child baptized.... we spent 4 hours in the church. non-stop :retard:
I'm an atheist, so going to church for weddings, etc always bores me but it doesn't happen too often so i can make it... but this time it was really too long. First the wedding ceremony, then the baptim... one more hour and i was dead, they would have made my funerals right after that :p

and you sound like my Hubby when it comes to going to church ... he only has to walk past a church and he practically bursts into flames!! ... we went to a church wedding once and he kept making comments about when the priest was going to get 'friendly' with one of the altar-boys :o ... and at another he kept loosening his tie and saying, is it hot in here or is it just the flames of hell coming to get me :o
:spit:
yeah well, i've never been thinking of the flames... but now that you mention it...
i'm never hot in churches though, it's all the contrary.
You fainted Ulrike? ok, this i never did either.
you should have removed the tatoo too :tape:girl, if haven't told you yet... you really have brilliant ideas! :yeah:

It wasn't at all a bad experience. :p I was 12 and we were in church every Sunday with our whole class to prepare for our Holy Communion. At the time I was 'madly in love' (must've been like the only time in my life  ) with this kid in my class. Because I fainted he was extra interested and worried about me that whole day. I didn't mind the extra attention. :aplot:

:spit: Yeah in one of those psychiatric clinics where the patients always seem to hang out in the garden

Btw I went shopping and bought none of the things that were on my list. In
fact, I bought nothing. No skirt (all the skirts were knee-length or slutty short ;) ), no boots (no time) and no external hard-drive (too expensive: 149 euro for 40GB). Then I wanted to buy a book I had read about only to find out it hasn't arrived in stores yet.
It was a nice afternoon though. Very nice for my bank account too ;)

Then after that we had fondue with our class (it's the second to last week of classes ever so there are a lot of activities) and boy was everybody drunk. It was so funny to see some of the more reserved people starting to change as the alcohol took over. I swear at one point I saw two girls looking into a guys pants :aplot: (don't know what they saw down there but it must've been interesting  )
