I waited all day yeasterday, all night (got home at 12 last night) and this morning and this isn't translated yet! Man, these translators are slow. Don't they think we wnat to know what Guille said eh?

Well I translated some of it. Uh, he said the doctor convinced him that there was no other way to fix his shoulder than with surgery so ya. He said he had the surgery yesterday morning, 11 a.m. Argentine time, (that would be 10 in NY right?) and they were done an hour later! Quick. And um, what else did he say..............He said he can't leave the hospital till friday. Then he's gonna come to the US to do some interviews in NY (I think it's gonna be on the Tennis Channel  ) Uh what else. He said he's not gonna be able to do anything tennis wise for a while so he and Carla are finally gonna go on their honeymoon :couple: What else. Oh yeah, docs said recovery could take up to 3 months! Which is much better than 6. And he said thanks to everybody of course.

That's all I know.

Here is the translation from his site . . . they finally posted it. . .

Hello everyone again, this time from Spain. I wanted to tell you that this Monday morning I had surgery on the injury in my shoulder, and according to the doctors and thanks God the procedure was successful".

"I'll tell you some details. The operation took place in the FiatC Clinic Foundation of Barcelone and was performed by the Doctor Jaume Vilaró, one of the best shoulder specialists that exist. I entered the operating room at 11.00 -Argentina time- and got out one hour and a half later".

"As you all knew well, I wanted to avoid the surgery, but Dr. Angel Ruiz Cotorro, a great Physician who I trust very much, practiced another study of my shoulder and concluded that surgery was the only permanent solution to my injury".

"Even tough I am a little stunned, as you will imagine, I am happy for having accomplished this procedure. This is the first step towards my recovery and my return to tennis courts".

"When will that be? Honestly, it is too soon to set a date, but doctors are very optimistic and think that the full recovery will take up to three months. Therefore, I still believe that I will be able to play at the Houston Master, as long as the points I have so far are enough".

"For the time being, I will be released from hospital on Thursday and on Friday I will go to the United States of America. Since I can't to anything for at least two weeks I try to give Carla the kind of honeymoon I couldn't give her when we married".

"I have some interviews scheduled in New York for some American chains after this break. From that moment on, I haven't planned my next steps, that's why I don't want to set a date for my returning to Argentina or Spain, where I must return to have the corresponding check-ups done".

"Once again, I want to thank you all for the support and concern words, beginning with Carla, my family and friends, but following with those who took the trouble to write to me".

"I hope this passes quickly. I am optimistic and once again, I will do whatever it takes to be playing tennis soon".

I think that is great Carla diserves a honeymoon and Coria some time to rest from the tour so when he comes back(i wish it could be for the masters at houston) he will kick some ass.

Nah! He was jus' playin!!!

08-20-2004, 12:41 PM
Bet money he wasn't playing . . . latin guys love this dream of a big family and lots of kids running around. Problem is that they aren't the ones who get to endure 9 months of joy (actually I love being pregnant) and then the indescribable beauty of birth (I am less in love with that part of it all). Or changing diapers. Or all that running the house stuff etc. Money or not, Carla is still on the hook for all that. And she doesn't strike me as the mother of five. I am not seeing this. At all. She strikes me as the type who would like two of them and no more. She doesn't come across as hands-on, ya know? And not for nothing, they are both still babies themselves.
