Omgosh a black guy asked me out today. Advice needed. Should I call him?

NinaNina19

First time for me . I was on the bus today and this guy beside me asked me all of a sudden if I wanted his phone number. I was listening to my ipod and only took my headphones out when a lot of people got out at a place that wasn't a usual stop. I just wanted to see what was going on when this guy started talking to me. I had seen him on the bus several times before. At first I couldn't hear what he was saying, but then I realized he was asking me if I wanted his number. I was just thinking "wtf?".

I couldn't believe he was interested in me before because it would have never occurred to me that I was his type. I ignored him at first because I thought he was just trying to be an asshole but he kept on asking me and then he kept on saying "You don't have to take it" every time I ignored his question and so I just kind of brushed him off. Then he proceeded to show me his phone number anyway and I couldn't ignore him anymore and I wasn't sure whether not taking it would be rude (I'm really bad at this kind of thing) so I just asked him why he wanted to give it to me and he said "I've seen you on here before, I think you're pretty":p.

I was really flattered because he looked like he was in his mid to late twenties and he was hot so I told him OK. He gave me his number and he told me to call him, I told him I would (even though inside I was thinking no way) and he asked me when so I panicked and told him tomorrow (hoping he would forget by then) and then he told me "don't take my number if you're not going to call me, can you call me today?":o and I just said "Oh, I'll see". He then asked me if I had a boyfriend and I said no (I should have said yes but I wasn't really thinking and I thought it would be stupid to say yes since I had already taken his number). Then he asked me if I wanted a boyfriend and I just said "I don't know" (I feel really embarrassed now at how stupid and naive I probably seemed). He then asked me how old I was. I told him I was 18 and I asked him how old he was and he said he was 27. He then asked me whether this was too old for me. I just said "oh no" softly.

Thankfully the bus came to my stop by then and I got off, I can't really remember what happened after then. I was pretty embarrassed about the whole situation. We were the only ones talking on the bus, so everyone probably heard us and I probably sounded like an idiot.

Either way, I don't know whether or not to call him. I see him on my bus like once a week or once every other week so I can't just completely ignore him. He seems pretty intimidating :scared:. I think he is attractive but I mean I have to doubt his motives in hitting on me. I wouldn't even know what to do if I called him.

Can someone tell me how I should have reacted in this situation? I never know what to say in these kinds of situations. I feel like I always end up coming off as naive and stupid.

18+7 = 25...so this guy is too old...

use 7 to see how much younger the other person can be...use your age divided by 2 + 7...so for me its 23/2= 11.5+7= 18.5 is the youngest i would date and 30 the oldest  (well probably 25)

Geez, Nina. It's your second thread about a similar random case. If I was to start a thread about every weird guy who tries to chat to me MTF would have crashed a long time ago.

If you meet a guy that you like, go for it, don't look for the age, this world is about the pleasure and not about the numbers. You don't have to get married with every guy you meet, right so you don't calculate if you're gonna raise up the kids together or whatever.

If you don't like him, be convincing enough to scare him away, like you say you'll call the cops or call a tabloid, or that you're friends with his previous gf who said he couldn't deliver in bed for fuck's sake (make sure you say this last one when he's with male friends) - he'll leave you alone.

What is possibly easier than that?

The real problems start when you want a married guy to get divorced and stay for life with you, but I see this stage is yet ahead of you. ;)

Ah, and if *you* should call any guy. No, a guy should call. He is interested in having sex with you, you are the one who gives him a pleasure of agreement. Why would you or your parents have to pay the bill for it? You are a lady, he calls. A bit of self respect, miss!

Nathii said pretty much everything I wanted to say, if you like him and want to go out with him/have him as bf/sleep with him, I suggest you start by talking with him on the bus rather than calling him first, you are bound to meet him anyway, so go and sit beside him when you see him and chat with him, get to know more about him and let him know more about you, eventually he can have your number and he will call you, you DON'T have to call him even if you wanted to date him/sleep with him.

however if you don't want to accept his offer, just continue normally and ignore him completely when you see him in the bus, if he approached you and asked why didn't you call and is something wrong? tell him you are sorry and you don't want to see anybody right now, if he insisted and was a jerk try to make a scene in the bus and he will be intimdated, if not just threaten him and ask him to stay away from you, this should work :yeah:

Now after reading this I came up with the idea of asking her more for her advice about these kind of stuff...like which are the principles that a guy mustn't break in order to start a relationship? I'm always afraid of blewing it or to saying the wrong sentence at the wrong time. Or perhaps which is the thin line between being a gentle dude asking a girl out without a looking like a daring guy to she maybe get afraid of.

1. No sleeping over - unless it is very good and we need to repeat it in the morning.

2. No meeting in public except for dinner or drinks before the events of the evening.

3. No calls before 9 PM - we don't have shit to talk about.

4. None of that "lovemaking" shit - only sex allowed.

5. No emotional discussions (i.e. Where are we heading with this? Do you love me?) The answer is no, so don't ask.

6. No plans made in advance - that is why you are called the "backup," unless you are from out-of-town, then it's only a one-time advanced arrangement.

7. All gifts accepted - money is always good.

8. No baby talk - however, dirty talk is encouraged.

9. No asking for comparisons with former lovers - it's really none of your damn business.

10. No calling each other "friends with privileges" we are not friends, just sex buddies.

11. Calling out the wrong name during sex is OK - don't be offended.

12. No extra clothing - I don't want your ass leaving anything behind when you leave.

13. No falling asleep right after sex - it's over, so get your ass up, get dressed and go the **** home.

14. Don't be offended if I don't ask if you enjoyed it - I don't care.

15. You cannot borrow my car for any reason.

16. If anyone asks who you are, the standard response will be: "My roommate's girlfriend/boyfriend."

17. Doggie style is the preferred position - the reason is less eye contact the better.

19. No condoms, no ****ing. Carry your ass home.

20. Bring your own drink - I am not your liquor store.

21. No phone use, please - don't want anyone calling back looking for your ass.

**EXTRA TIP FOR SUCCESSFUL BOOTY CALLS**:

The aforementioned rules may only be altered by the holder of the agreement. If the other party attempts to change or alter any terms of this Agreement, it will automatically become null and void and you will then be removed from the BOOTY CALL LIST and deleted from phone memory and email list. In other words, you will be BLOCKED from all communications until your silly ass understands the rules.

Summing it up. Don't go out with this guy. It's nothing to do with him being black (I can see people accusing me of racism here). It has to do with him being a creep.

There are millions of guys out there. I'm sure you can do better hun.

and more importantly, do NOT call him, he doesn't need to know your number, tell him what you feel like in the face, you are bound to meet him in the bus again afterall.

shouldn't be answering to a title like that:p, but well.. I like his response why he wants you to have his number, but this "call me today"-stuff sounds a bit weird
anyway, do what you think is best and under no circumstances listen solely to dating advice from mtf

ps. age ain't nothing but a number

JolánGagó

First, if we talk about a date or a hook-up no one is too old or too young unless you think he/she is before being told his/her age. For more serious relationships age difference can be an issue.

Second, the guy wants to screw you, that's clear. If you want too, go ahead but DO NOT call him, next time you see him give him your number or, if not comfortable with that, your msn. Not because girls shouldn't call guys, that's utter bullshit but because it was him who first aproached you and made clear his interest.

If you aren't interested just wait till next time he sees you and asks, you tell him that your parents are against dating anyone right now and that frankly speaking you aren't thaaaaaat interested either, and then you give him back the paper with his number and say thank you.

OMG!!! Typical white girl who hasn't been out with a black guy. Anything else you gotta tell us?

Off course a black guy is weird for a white girl if she doesn´t like that typos, she is being honest, let´s stop trying to put racism in everything we read. The society is still divided even if it shouldn´t.
I would be proud of your honesty as well if you put "a white guy asked me out", it would be sincere and show it´s deffo out of your reality. ;)

I would say that a guy asked me out; then again, I would not expose my dating dilemmas to people I don't know, so this would not be a topic of conversation. All said, should a person's color matter?

I´m not defending a society divided by colors, nor defending that white is better than black (or vice-versa), but we can´t criticize someone for assuming a color preference for a date. To prefer white over black or black over white for a date is not racism since it represents different aspects of the "divided society" like culture, personal preferences and background history.
