Another Message from Guille

"Hello everyone once again".

"This time, I have bad news to give you all: due to the injury in my shoulder, I will not be able to go de the Olympic Games of Athens".

"As you can imagine, I am really sad, but in this moment, I want to wish the best luck to Mariano Zabaleta, who is taking my place, to the tennis team and to all the athletes of Argentina".

"In my last E-mail I had told you that my being in Greece was very doubtful because I still had a little hope of being able to make my dream to come true. But sadly, I will not be able to represent my country".

"I confess that I am having a hard time assuming that after all the work and all the scarifies I have been making to go to the Olympics are falling apart because an injury. But I hope I will have the chance in four years".

"As had told you already, my injury it is called SLAP (in English it is called URFB, Upper Rim Front-Back). It is originated in a fibrocartílago* (called Labrum) that surrounds the bone of the shoulder, where the humerus articulates and the long portion of the biceps is inserted. This injury causes the instability of my shoulder".

"What are my plans, you might ask yourself? First, I will try to avoid a surgery, although it is an option. So in the next few days, I will travel to Europe or the United States to see the better shoulders specialist. Not until then I will decide what it is best for me".

"Therefore, I can't tell you how much time my recovery will take. So far, the only thing I can confirm you all is that will not play the US Open. But although that fact, I hope the points I have in the Championship Race will let me classify for the Master".

"Once again, I want to thank Carla, my family, my team, my friend and all the people who send me E-mails or leave messages in the website for your support. Now more than ever you give me the strength I need to be as soon as possible in a tennis court".

"I will keep you posted".

I can't stand him . . . there is something so low-class about him . . . reminds me a clown or a peasant. :spit: UGH! I wanted to shoot him when was standing there on the podium at the French. :retard:

Poor Guille . . . sounds like surgery to me. I can't even imagine everything he has gone through for the past four months . . . he must think this is the nightmare that will never end . . . each day with a new surprise.

I wonder what you do when one thing totally defines you and that gets derailed. If your identity is completely wrapped around being a tennis player, what happens to you if that goes away sooner than expected or gets interrupted for a long period of time?

so much injuries, i cant believe he is injured again, and that he will loose the olympic games, he was one of the few argentine candidates for a gold medal.

he isn't hard court specialist at all, I don't think he has any chance to gain the gold medal.

willie
08-08-2004, 01:26 AM
well but he is improving alot, this year he arrived to the nasdaq 100 final and lost to roddick and last year he did QF in us open, i think he had a chance, but as always his injuries appear.

Guille's Girl
