They forgot to mention the blood on the walls of the trophy room,"If you want to get out of Belgrade alive, don't beat up the Djoker in front of his home fans"

It didn't quite go to plan though, the fake blood didn't arrive on time from the wholesaler's so Nole was forced to use Jelena's lipstick in a rushed job :p

:rolls: I wonder what Djoker water tastes like? :aplot:
That wasn't supposed to be a temporary thing just for the Nole open? :sobbing:

And the tactics aren't gonna work anyway. You know, the brothers have 4 times more(actually 8 times :p) trophies in their own room.

You should bring some this year and send it to me, or hold it until we meet again - since you are good at holding water bottles :p

I didn't think DC thread for '010 would have 1000+ replies already. Sure enough it's recycled from last year. :D

Hopefully he won't face anyone too tough, looks like he might need more time to get into the groove of his new serve by IW.

Friday
Viktor Troicki (SRB) v John Isner (USA)
Novak Djokovic (SRB) v Sam Querrey (USA)

Saturday
Janko Tipsarevic/Nenad Zimonjic (SRB) v Bob Bryan/Mike Bryan (USA)

Sunday
Novak Djokovic (SRB) v John Isner (USA)
Viktor Troicki (SRB) v Sam Querrey (USA)

I thought Janko would play the singles matches.
Either way, nothing surprising though.

Still Janko has far more experience with DC and he loves this kind of spotlight, as we know. :p Also he seems in a better form to me. Anyway there must be some other issues that I didn't notice, like H2H, preference of surface or something. :)

I am suprised that Viktor is playing instead of Janko. May be Janko not yet recovered from his cold in Dubai (Is it a cold?) Janko is better on clay than Viktor IMO.

Thanks both:hug:Why did they chose to start playing late in the afternoon?

Looks like Nole will have to get the job done tomorrow:help:

I think it was done for US TV (because of the time difference), and also for people who couldn't get time off work for a day match, but it was a really stupid decision imo. Not everyone owns a car, and let's say public transport isn't of the best or most reliable in Beograd. Having said that - night matches at WTF suffered from the same issues in London last year so it happens everywhere.

hello:D
nice to meet you:wavey:

oh serbia lost the match:sad:

Likewise:D

They're still 2-1 ahead;)

I hope Nole's ready. He's tired and must be under great pressure - if he loses Sam will probably beat Viktor :awww:

Suddenly things looks bad:sobbing:

Hard luck.

Don't think they thought every match will last for more than 3hours:tape:

There will still be a match for the sake of the people who have paid money for tickets.............. but if the result of the final match cannot affect the tie, the teams usually substitute the two named players for others - usually junior or younger members of the team to give them some DC experience.

Ljubica,I read some strange interesting stories in the Serbian tabloids. Seems like there is always some kind of drama.....I am just giving you a summary/short story version of what I read, hoping that you can give us more information. I read that Novak's dad asked the Serbian Television to fire Viskovic a prominent tennis comentator, because he was comenting against Novak! The comentator was fired (did not know how much power the Djoko family has in Serbia?????). Now, a lot of Serbians hate the Djokovic family including Novak, because they believe that Novak should not be supporting what his father did/said!!!! They are actually waiting for Novak to make a statement regarding this and Nole so far has not commented about it publicly. Rumor has it, a lot of the Serbians were protesting this act and left in the middle of Novak's match, .... I know it all sounds crazy, but this type of mentality is well-known in this part of the world......

Bottom-line, maybe what Novak's father did was wrong, but that has nothing to do with Novak. I actually commend him for his desire to play for his country when none of the other top 10 players want to be involved with this extra curriculum activity. He does not deserve to be treated like this in his own country. They are very harsh on him and as we all know, Novak wears his emotions on his sleeves. This is probably a big disapointment for him. He must be very hurt. So what's going to happen tomorrow? All depends how much will Novak alow this to affect his play and ultimately how much he cares about winning for his country that does not respect him and his achievements and link him to his family's mistakes/issues....??Again, rumors are rumors, but in every rumor there is some truth and unfortunately it is very sad. That is the last thing Nole needed at the moment! I sincerely hope his main concern is to get his serve and game in place instead of waisting time and energy on something of this caliber.....????? Very sad!!!!! I feel so bad for Nole and I hope he finishes what he needs to do tomorrow and leaves as soon as possible..... Please tell us more if you know more!!!!!

Florida - I don't live in Serbia, - I live in London, And my knowledge of the situation is pretty much the same as yours, and gleaned from the same tabloid sources. There are Serbian posters here based in that country, who are far more knowledgable than I am. Sorry I can't really help further on this.
