Because of an injury he won't be able to play at the Olympics...

So no dutch players will go to Athene!

NO DUTCH PLAYERS?? Aaaaaaw! I'm normally not that patriotic, but this is just sad! :( :bigcry: And that will also mean NO tennis coverage what so ever during the Olympics.. Was his withdrawal cuz of his chest/shoulder muscle? Where did you read it? :(

Yeah, it's that muscle indeed! It was on the news, and i also read it somewhere...can't remember...they said he tried to get better as he really really REALLY wanted to go, but it wasn't enough!
:crying2:

He thought it wouldn't fit in his schedule, he just wasn't interested and since he has some points to defend at the US Open, he'd rather prepare well instead of playing the Olypmics :bigcry:

Raemon Sluiter was scheduled, but the Dutch said "No!"

Yeah - can you believe that!
And now there won't be any dutch players because of them! Grrr.... :(

yes still think its unfair for not sending Raemon, he is really a player who is proud to be Dutch, so think he would do great there.

I'm not understanding this whole situation with not letting Raemon go. Can someone try to explain it to me?

The Dutch national Olympic commitee, like in many other countries, has its own criteria for Dutch athletes in the Olympic Games. Sluiter didn't make these criteria, and so he won't go to Athens.

It's a similar case to Barna and Weingartner in Germany.

yes the rules were that he had to reach to a QF in a GS or a Master tournement..but Raemon didn't reach that..
