He's handling most everyone ranked below him, which is a good sign.

He'll need to take a few more risks against the big guns though.

Del Potro won a coin toss and chose to receive and broke the first game. Period.

Commentators said just before the next match that Kei caught a flu.
He has not recovered from his right arm's injury either. These might explain the result.

BTW the pay view was awful. Bitrate is like 200 Kbps. No scoreboard. Commentators kept talking about their good old days or something no to do wth the match. :(

Emphatic win for Potro, although if Kei was flu'd up and not 100% it pretty much means you will get beat easily by this beast Potro, although Potro would have beat a fully fit Kei anyway, well done Potro, better luck next time Nishikori.

i'm sure he would've won if he was 100%

well done del potro, he really is the king of beating lower ranked players than himself and there isn't many ranked above him now

At least he keeps beating softer competition. That is already something!

That is consistency, consistency with top 4 and consistency with all ones out of top 10...

How do you think he will do against Davydenko, Roddick, Simon, Verdasco, Nalbandian, Monfils & Tsonga? Do you think he is a bit above these players or in the same level?

I would like to see him playing against Davydenko again to see if he is the next #5 or an "average" top 10 player.

The main difference with Del Potro and the rest of the top players is that he is the only one that never won a match to a top 4.

At the same time he usually never lose to out of top 10, he is so predictable...

Lol. Being bagelled by Federer and Nalbandian is proof that he isn't that good.

He's not good. Being bagelled by Federer and Nalbandian in a time period of less than 100 days is a pretty awful achievement.

del Potro seems to be a robotic player out there. Not a thinking type of guy.

He's not good. Being bagelled by Federer and Nalbandian in a time period of less than 100 days is a pretty awful achievement.

He played right into their hands, hence the bagels. It had little to do with physical ability, it was more a lack of active thinking and strategizing on the court; something he still needs to work on.
