R'dam QF: Nadal vs Tsonga - WWW?

Exciting match, I think.

On current form and considering the surface, i'd say Tsonga in 2 sets,possibly in 3(despite the fact he is not playing at his best).
Nadal looked terrible today against Dimitrov(so many unusual UEs from him).

doubt it will be exiting with their level this week

Since their famous AO encounter of 2008 which Tsonga won, they played again once last year and Nadal won. Who will win this time?
The way Nadal is playing so far, my vote is on Tsonga.

I suppose they are going to play on the higher level tomorrow than in the first two rounds. I think they are mentally prepared for this match from the beginning of the tournament ;)

Tsonga's back was stiff during the Australian Open. I wonder if it still is. If his back his fine, he will stomp on Mugboar.

I think they will raise level today. Nadal can be half-sleep vs. players that are not real rivals, but he can't afford losing easily to Tsonga again.

Tsonga is tired but will do everything to defeat the #1 for the first time. (Nadal was #2 in last AO).

THE RAFA is playing his B-game to avoid mental fatigue, it leads to a lot of unforced errors but his clutchness sees him through. His A-game (as in the game where he makes very few unforced errors) is mentally exhausting so he isn't using it in this tournament. The B-game is a kind of 'go with the flow swing for the fences' kind of game which is good enough to beat most players. When he plays Tsonga he will have to make the decision of either continuing with the B-game or lifting to the A-game :wazzup:

Nadal plays absolutely crap this week.

But of course Tsonga may make a lot of UE and Nadal will fight more.

Maybe we watched a different match. Those tiebreaks were all tense. I especially liked the comeback at the end from 2-5 down.

a comeback doesnt make that a good match, Nadal was in piss poor form ( the only set he played llike he is capable of was the 3rd one round later against Blake) and an erratic Tsonga was serving for the match and choked badly

that was another legendary fight from rafa but by no means a quality match

If he's tired I would imagine he'd want to end the points quickly. If he does that it'll just be Tsonga's net rush vs. Nadal passing shots all day. This one's gonna be close

Hardly anyone uses those threads. If we could use the WWW threads, more people would get involved. No one has been able to explain the logic behind us being barred from discussing live matches in WWW threads.

dont you think that you re forgetting something? the fact that he just has spent a week down in South Africa playing and now here. Put all this together and i think you can get tired pretty fast.
