Gonzo fucking destroyed him. With extreme prejudice. Pico seemed to have no control over limbs... it was horrifying. I will have nightmares from witnessing this. Maybe someone gave Pico one of those latte macchiatos the russians used on tommy haas. :sobbing: I am afraid for Cuevas. Very afraid. :scared:

I'm always very hard with Gonzo, but today was awesome, i don't remember a trashing like this ever in his carrer. :D
I remember a 60 63 over Hrbaty in Basel 05 SF, probably Voo "the genius" de Mar has the answer.
Still Cuevas will be hard, but i hope for a quicky tomorrow.

This is the tournament where Pico lost all of his mojo last year when he sprained his ankle in the dubs semis. He hasn't been able to play singles since. :(

The 6-1 6-3 6-1 against Haas including only 3 UE in the whole match at AusOpen 2007 SF doesn't count?

Check the score lines and especially the match times of his run in Amersfoort 2005 ;) He did something like last night there for the entire week except for the final against Calleri which was a little harder. I was there in person and going  all week  But it was fantastic and such a relaxing week for once
And there must have been other matches like this in his career. One is the Haas match A_Rod mentioned.

I watched that match last night. Gonzalez played well and unless he did nothing extraordinary Monaco helped with the result. Monaco should seriously think on making some changes on his tennis ( maybe working team aswell) or he will return to play challenger tournaments again quite soon...

Gonzo was a satan's angel last night
But his best match still is defeating roddick 7-6(4) 7-6(6) QF AMS Cincinnati 2002. Just freaking winners from forehand and backhand. No slice at all.

typical Clownaco, although Gonzalez was impressive hitting his usual heavy forehand but not missing a shot not even with his slice.

Agree, night matches in Vina involving Chilean players are always fun to watch. It's a Davis Cup-like atmosphere.

Yes, Gonzo d. Haas in AO 07 SF was probably the best match he played in his entire carrer. He was awesome that day, and his winners/ue ratio was outstanding. :p
