Expected? How? On this surface and in front of a home crowd, Izak would be the favourite, or it would be pretty much 50-50. No way was De Chaunac the obvious favourite going into the match.

Anyway, Izak had his chances and didn't take them. Nice for De Chaunac to see himself in a QF in the twilight of his career. He's a cool guy, so I am happy for him :yeah:

If you count them plus maybe Baghdatis out, many challengers have a better field :p

Baghdatis, Chardy, Tsonga and Pics are the real players there... Tsonga has an open draw to the final. I think Monfils would have played if he hadn't been injured.

It's decided it's now called Johanneschallenger?

If you look at the draws in Vina del Mar and Zagreb, it's not really better! The next big tournament will be Rotterdam!

I can only agree with you.

Right. Wayne Ferreira aswell. But if I`m not wrong there wasn`t an ATP tournament in South Africa during Wayne`s career.

:D In the 90's South Africa had the same tournament in three cities: Johannesburg, Durban and Sun City.
