All-serve mug this Ljubicic.

he was up *3-1 in the 3rd with serving bad all match

Troicki should look it to getting some glasses, on one bp Ljubo hit a ace, that was about a 10-15inches in and Troicki almost started a fight with the umpire about it

Troicki could have ended this in straights. He was break up in the second set, but he became too tentative and passive which allowed Ljubo to win that set with his experience. Ivan had a bit of a momentum at th start of the third but he started to make too many errors from both wings, Viktor broke back and in he 4:4 he shifted in higher gear, started to play offensively and immediately broke Ljubicic. Troicki does have more firepower than Ljubicic this days.

truba really sucks. troicki should think about getting taken to 3 sets by this mug.

Well, I watched only half of the first and whole last set and it seemed that if not the serve - Ljubo would be down in two. 19 aces, 60% of 1st serve and 76% of 1st serve points won is not that bad if you ask me.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Ljubo but he is a turtle.

You are wrong about that one, they repeat that point on TV like 3-4 times. The ball was at least 20 cm out. However, line judges were awful, they made more than a few bad calls, maybe even more on Ljubo's expense. I think hawk eye is pretty much a necessary on this surfaces.

there was a bad baseline call where troicki was right, but the 2nd time ljubo's serve was well inside the service box.

really :speakles: ? I thought the serve was well in like inches from each line, but in :speakles: Weird. Maybe the colour of the surface really plays tricks on one's eyes. In Moscow they have hawkeye for Rukort, but well..

Ljubo had his chances, but his game just sucks. Especially his moving on court seems really bad.

:awww: What happened to that form from the last few matches and why did he start with that passive play.

He was missing everything after that 3-1 in the third so he took off pace and tried with retrieving. But he was still trying to hit some hard ground-strokes from time to time and that produced all that errors.

No, I get the short change to get back on track when needed, but he played the entire first set like that and started with some aggression only after being broken in the 2nd. It clearly suited Viktor to play like that in the first as he was the one ending on the losing side more.

Passive play does work for Ljubicic sometimes -- I remember him beating Davydenko at RG last year, playing more passively would be impossible.

He has won a lots of matches that way, but his serve was impeccable those days.

troicki's probably one to watch soon... still too unpredictable sometimes though.

VT has a big game but he could do with flattening out his shots a bit on surfaces like these.

yes he has a good game, often puts up a good fight against Top players, but i watched him a couple of times where he just agve up when things did not go his way from the start, IMO hasn't got the mental edge...

Ljubo is finished for sure, serving like a mug, that awful forhand got even worse, too sad to see him going down this way...

Troicki definitely has a bizarre technique on his shots, but at the same time quite a mundane style of play.

Not all the match. He stepped up and started punishing every ball when mattered the most at 4:4 in the third and I already said that he was way too passive for a long period. If he played like that earlier this match would have been over rather quickly.

I am not sure we are talking about the same point but never mind. Red Ru-Kort with no hawk eye => bad choice. Even Mo who is well known for correcting bad calls from line judges could not fix all of them.

Well done Victor, made it more difficult then should have been having had a set and a break lead, but pulled through a tight and valuable win in the end, well done
