He's got a great opportunity but there's still the likes of Federer, Djokovic and Tsonga in the draw who can wipe the floor with him so it's not in the bag yet.

I give only Tsonga a little chance if he makes the semi
if he passes that hurdle it's slam no.6. for rafito
i'm serious

Johnny Groove

I really only see Tsonga stopping him, and considering their IW match last year, it should be an awesome SF.

Like scarecrows said, if Rafa makes the final, none of those mugs on the bottom half have a chance.

Why now, after Murray lost? I also saw Nadal as the biggest favorite before overrated Murray lost. I see only Djoko stopping him and I also think this will be the final.

Tsonga is a worse match-up for Nadal than Djokovic on this surface so i'd say Tsonga's got the biggest chance to beat Nadal there.

Nadal is finally fully exploiting, as "Forehander" greatly put it, "the loophole" in men's tennis: high balls to the BH. Instead of waiting for errors he is now there to punish those who can't give a proper reply to his windmill FH.

Save a Djoke on fire hitting penetrating BH, or a Superserving Fed in Jesus-mode I don't see anyone stopping him here.

Watching Nadal play, tennis seems so simple.
Whip a FH to the BH -> repeat until you get a weak reply -> put the ball away.
I hope men's tennis evolve quick enough before Nadal takes 20+ Slama. :tears:

Yeah I don't know if Simon is going to beat Nadal, but he may drive him into early retirement. If the match is anything like their last match in Madrid, but in five sets, Nadal is probably going to bust a knee cap before the end of the fourth...

You are forgetting someone.
You know, the guy who completely destroyed Nadal last year in this same AO and who on paper is the worst match-up possible for Nadal on this surface.

Nadal is my favourite to win as well. Mentally, he owns Federer and Djokovic. But obviously I hope that Federer wins his 14th GS.

Exactly the same thing you can do to him. Hit everything deep on his backhand and wait for a short ball. Has happened lots of times already on hardcourt.

2 Roger Federer SUI 1061
3 Novak Djokovic SRB 1059
4 Andy Murray GBR 744
5 Nikolay Davydenko RUS 543
6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga FRA 410
7 Gilles Simon FRA 396
8 Andy Roddick USA 394
9 Juan Martin del Potro ARG 389

No, it is not obvious that Nadal is going to win this GS. I am a Nadal Fan and I estimate the probability of Nadal winning this one at ~54%. (90% against Verdasco and 60% against the winner of Federer vs Roddick)

Someone really didn't see that Federer Del Potro match

What does that have to do with Federer/Nadal?

Let us see, Del Potro has no answer to Federers excellent backhand slice while Nadal would just rip winners with his forehand no matter how good Federers slices are. Let us see, Del Potro cant play defense, Nadal is the greatest defensive player the world has ever seen. Lets see, Del Potro cant hurt Federer with any shot, Nadals topspin forehand hurts Federer more than any other shot in the game. This could go on and on, Federer will need to serve at his best, play amazing in important moments and have a great day on both his forehand and backhand to win against Nadal. I hope to see this on sunday.

Nadal has a very signifigance career on hard courts he has won 7 titles on that surface including 4 TMS (2 Canada Open,Indian Wells and Madrid). He's the #1 in the world and he prevail it.
What players have right now more than 7 HC titles...a very few including Federer (38) , Roddick (16), Blake (10), Djokovic and Murray both with 8. But I think no more.
