Dan and Nenad

Disappointing, but I'm not too surprised they went out early here, I kind of had a bad feeling based on their form.

They cruised through the first 5-or-so service games, and then for three straight games at the end of the first and start of the second, just wilted and got broken all three times. The return game wasn't very good either, they couldn't do much

Thought that Kubot/Marach might end up losing it when Lukasz served two double faults in the service game to go up 5-3, but he pulled it together quite well, good luck to them :)

Disappointing but expected. They are not in good form at all. So the Bryans will probably back to #1 in ranking.

Kubot said recently that this year he and Marach want to concentrate on doubles because they are able to beat all the best pairs in the world.

After losing to Nadull in doubles they fell into depression, it seems.

I have no words.

M/F would most likely lose this one with current shape.

Well done, guys!

Well, I have said before that Lukasz should become a doubles specialist. He's an alright singles player (in fact, he's underperforming there), but his potential is in doubles. Still, if he has to play Challengers all the time, he can hardly get the kind of doubles results he could get. This win could be a definite boost for them.

Still, Dan & Nenad should have won this :o They will not be happy. First the loss to López/Nadal, now this one.

:)

A Polish SFist is very likely now and I hope it will be Kubot.

Of course ultra mug Rogier Wassen and Kas lost to Ball/Guccione, but I think this won't happen to Kubot and Marach. F/M have to beat Pavel/Tecau.

It doesn't seem like Dan and Nenad were too focused for this one, which is quite understandable, given their new families.

From CP (http://tsn.ca/tennis/story/?id=264370&lid=headline&lpos=topStory_tennis) Article

''The played well, hitting the ball hard and making a lot of big shots,'' said Nestor, seeded first in the doubles. ''We probably got a bit rattled at the end of the first set.

''It's not that we were expecting them not to play well, but it might have been too much thinking about them and not enough about playing our game and staying relaxed. They ran the table from 5-5 in the first set to 0-4 in the second, we tried to dig out of a hole but we couldn't.''

Nestor, 36, and Zimonjic both became first-time fathers in December.

The Toronto left-hander said the baby is waiting at home, but first he has a mixed doubles challenge with Aleksandra Wozniak of Blainville, Que.

''I have other responsibilities now, but my mixed partner has been waiting to play for a few days. I have to give it my best.''

''But we would have hoped to have done better.''
