Byrd 01-23-2009, 02:37 AM Ferrer sucks, Cilic only had to play in 1st gear. dr.Damir 01-23-2009, 02:38 AM This was bliss, mature finished.:worship: Now beat JMDP. HeretiC 01-23-2009, 02:39 AM Very confident play from Marin. Despite the fact that Ferrer is in a lousy form lately he is always a tough opponent, he fought hard, but Cilic had too much power on his shots so grinding did not work well. Match against Del Potro should be interesting one. finishingmove 01-23-2009, 02:41 AM pooooor from pics petar_pan 01-23-2009, 03:07 AM bravo cilic, great done. petar_pan 01-23-2009, 03:08 AM ferrer was really very very good in two first sets. Straight sets :D Machiavelli 01-23-2009, 06:43 AM Bravo Marinko, nice 3 set victory, keep up the good work.... FairWeatherFan 01-23-2009, 06:47 AM People were laughing at me on this board last year when I suggested that Cilic will one day be challenging for the no 1 ranking. I stand by that statement. Nathaliia 01-23-2009, 06:52 AM This is where Ferrer luck ended. Argh, hopefully he'll collect himself and lives up again to the "Pics US Open" times. croat123 01-23-2009, 07:21 AM solid match from marin...not his best, but all he needed to get through easily. gotta cut down some of those forehand errors, but promising display today :) reggie1 01-23-2009, 08:03 AM I remember watching Marin on t.v last summer and the sky commentators were saying that he would be top5 very soon. But also David isn't joking with his hand....:p:p:wavey::wavey::wavey: Rumour 01-24-2009, 03:14 AM Well done Cilic :hatoff: Too bad Pics  Let's be real, Ferrer's great run from around mid 2007-08 was exceptional rather than normal for his standards and - with all the younger, more powerful players now emerging - I don't expect to see him return to those heights, especially on faster courts. However, I was a fan before the Spaniard jumped into the top five and will stay one regardless. As for Cilic, I've yet to actually see him play this AO but it seems like he continues to improve from last season so kudos to him. | |
