I enjoyed this match watched most of it. What a passing shot in the game where Andreev broke back in the 5th. First two sets Gulbis was 0/0 on Break point opportunities and Andreev was 2/8. Then Andreev's game plan stopped working and Gulbis found consistency. Final set was great, some nice hitting Gulbis was up 40-0 *4-5 in the fifth then Andreev won 5 straight points on the Gulbis serve to take it out!!! Wooo this has made my day :lol:

I don't know what to say, such a shame that he somehow managed to blew this after such a comeback and being a break up. He looked like he ran out of motivation after he got that break in the fifth. Even after being re-broken he had 40:0 lead on his serve for a 5-5. Unlike him Andreev in the fifth set looked like he want this win badly and he got it.

2 consecutive 5 set matches for Andreev and he looked like he could still go on for another couple of hours.

I agree with everything in this post. It was strange to see Gulbis lose 5 straight points on his serve, it seemed he just didn't care enough to make the effort. Maybe he was just tired :shrug:

Seriously, you cant judge a 20 year old player like that. I find it unbelivable how very, very young players like Del Potro and Gulbis are judged so hard, the same was true for Murray before he matured and became a great, great player. Just stop it, in 1-2 years I think Gulbis will not only be top 10, he will be a contender in slams and possibly the 5th to enter the mix with the top 4.

Gulbis is not a choker and he is not overhyped, his hype is very low considering the amount of talent I see in him. Greatness comes with time and experience to most players (except freaks of nature like Nadal and Hewitt).

People are acting like this guy has years of choking experience on the tour and is an endless hopeless case, I didnt even know who he was 1 year ago, first time I saw him in the french open I was very impressed and he is even better this year. Hey, I am swedish and our biggest "hope" is a 24 year old brainless choker without touch or feeling for the game named Söderling. Just to remind you, this guy cant get past 3rd round in a slam even if his life was depending on it. Even Bennetau was just too much talent to handle for Söderling i nthe French open 3rd round last year.

Gulbis was in quaterfinal in the French open, his worst surface when he was 19 years old. At 21-22 he could be winning his 1st slam.
