Fed is rounding into form. Forehand and movement seem to be getting better and better (definitely better than in Doha).
Kooyong Final: Federer d. Wawrinka 6-1 6-3kobulingam 01-17-2009, 03:50 AM Fed is rounding into form. Forehand and movement seem to be getting better and better (definitely better than in Doha). lazyman 01-17-2009, 04:02 AM his timing was excellent today bad gambler 01-17-2009, 04:03 AM The post match presentation was longer than the match itself Awful from Wawrinka today brent-o 01-17-2009, 04:04 AM God I did not miss those one-sided Federer finals. Glad they aren't coming as frequently these days. biological 01-17-2009, 04:07 AM :woohoo: Arkulari 01-17-2009, 04:21 AM Roger played very solidly, there were some UEs and such but overall everything worked out perfectly :yeah: Stan is not in the best of forms, but is better than last year's end which was :o  Langers 01-17-2009, 04:37 AM Stan the Man is so overrated it's not even funny. sunsfuns 01-17-2009, 05:54 AM Good that he won, but Stan is not a proper measuring stick. Very suprised that he beat Gonzo, but I still expect an early exit at AO. Benny_Maths 01-17-2009, 06:04 AM Stan was just happy to be out there on the same court as Federer.:D krystlel 01-17-2009, 06:21 AM The post match presentation was longer than the match itself Awful from Wawrinka today It seemed like an incredibly long one-on-interview with Federer. I turned it off before it finished. Federer played well today, some very nice shotmaking on his end. It was a good match to watch, better than most of the half-hearted efforts/low intensity matches I've seen this week in Kooyong. Wawrinka was very inconsistent. FairWeatherFan 01-17-2009, 06:23 AM Wawrinka didn't seem to be bothered moving his feet during the match. During the pre-match interview he pointed out that 'it's only an exhibition', which I guess showcases his mindset going in. Federer hit some very pretty winners though so it was a good match to watch anyway. partygirl 01-17-2009, 06:28 AM Stan was just happy to be out there on the same court as Federer.:DYou know it.:hearts: Yves. 01-17-2009, 06:57 AM Wawrinka:o, during this week I thought your level was going up, bot today... Halba 01-17-2009, 08:13 AM abysmal joke tournament. they should have some better players to tee off with fed. Ferrero Forever 01-17-2009, 09:54 AM Horrible final. Exactly as the scoreline suggested. For me it was a waste of money (except for Verdasco VS Gonzo, that was good). I can honestly say I had more fun at the 2 hours of qualies I went to after Kooyong finished Oizo 01-17-2009, 11:49 AM Wow, that blue court is just amazing :hearts: federernadalfan 01-17-2009, 12:00 PM fedmeister :bigclap: cruise control Nathaliia 01-17-2009, 12:05 PM This is only an exho and everyone knows Wawa is the real Swiss #1 :rocker: :D ORGASMATRON 01-17-2009, 12:30 PM Well least Roger's going into the AO still number two in the world and looking in great form. Id say he's the favorite to win by far. groundstroke 01-17-2009, 12:57 PM small progress for federer, i still don't think he'll win the AO. Jaz 01-17-2009, 12:59 PM small progress for federer, i still don't think he'll win the AO. That's what we all said before USO too... :/ I'm not sure, for sure Federer is playing better now than he was one week before USO began. Matt01 01-17-2009, 01:12 PM Another minnie mouse win for Roger :yeah: gusman890 01-17-2009, 01:38 PM Wasn't even paying attention to it this week at all. Im not suprised Federer won though, he has something to prove to everyone after getting chopped up by Murrary so many times recently. Daniel 01-17-2009, 03:52 PM Well done Roger... send the message out there you are one to beat in the AO. t0x 01-17-2009, 05:11 PM Who was the last person to win kooyong and then the AO? This is more of a bad omen than anything (I think I can recall Agassi doing it a few years back actually... somebody remind me?). Ahhh well, it's just superstitious nonsense I'm going on about now, Fed actually looked in decent shape. Crazy Girl 01-17-2009, 05:13 PM Another minnie mouse win for Roger :yeah:What a minnie mouse win is?:awww::scratch: Crazy Girl 01-17-2009, 05:14 PM Rogi! You're so beautiful to me...:):) Andi-M 01-17-2009, 05:15 PM Whats new Wawrinka too scared to play against his master. Dini 01-17-2009, 05:57 PM Never in doubt Rogi!! :worship: Now continue this cruise control mode, and turn it up a few notches. Stamp your authority Fed and put tape on all those mouths who have forgotten what you have achieved. Matt01 01-17-2009, 11:46 PM What a minnie mouse win is?:awww::scratch: In case your question was serious I'll answer it for you: A minnie mouse win is a win that is irrelevant for the "big picture". Federer can win as many exhibition tourneys as he wants but that won't help him when he keeps losing to players like Nadal nad Murray at the real ATP tournaments. You make your own luck...unless Bud Collins jinxes you. luie 01-18-2009, 12:08 AM In case your question was serious I'll answer it for you: A minnie mouse win is a win that is irrelevant for the "big picture". What are you talking about:confused: Murray has to prove himself not federer, Murray as of now is still a MM performer. Matt01 01-18-2009, 12:21 AM What are you talking about:confused: Murray has to prove himself not federer, Murray as of now is still a MM performer. Other than US Open, Federer is a MM player for the last 14 months or so, while Murray has at least won 2 non-MM titles last year :wavey: Arkulari 01-18-2009, 12:52 AM so right now TWO AMS > 1 GS?  One W, Two F and a SF on GS vs a F by Muzza? :o Muzza's been a beast on HC lately, but he still needs to win a GS to be in the big picture, if Djoker could, why Muzza couldn't? they know they have their shots in the HC GS, 'cuz RG and Wimby are Fedal territory  Corey Feldman 01-18-2009, 01:40 AM nice to see Eddie the ego picking up the trophy now that Muzza or Nadal arnt in the field | |
